Camping represents settling down for a few hours, but not getting a completely rejuvenating rest. If you're in a town or other civilized area, it's better to have some downtime.
When you camp, you must spend at least 10 phases performing only restful activity. Camping requires a day's worth of food and water, plus shelter.
Depending on your surroundings and capabilities, your narrator might enable you to procure some food, water, or shelter from the environment with a successful ability check.
When you finish camping, your hit points are fully restored, and your Hit Dice are restored up to half their maximum (rounded down). If your maximum Hit Die is only 1, you still regain that Hit Die.
If you have spell slots, when you finish camping all your spell slots except the highest level are restored — unless your highest level of spell slots is your only level, in which case they are fully restored.
Aside from spell slots, any features which restore after a break, a short rest, or a long rest also restore after you camp.
