Cotsu was nominated just over a month ago but the request didn't pass. I believe this to be mostly due to people not knowing them well enough. I have been fortunate enough to get to know Cotsu better and wish I had sooner but here we are. Cotsu continually attempts to improve the D&D Wiki site and they also do so in a way that is kind and respectful to all users. I believe Cotsu's upstanding attitude and demeanor would be a great addition to the Admin team.
Cotsu has recently volunteered to put the D&D Wiki Magazine back on track. There may be times admin rights could assist Cotsu with this task and I trust them to use the rights for the most bestest of situations! I don't RFA Cotsu simply for the works on the magazine. Cotsu has shown a general interest in helping clean up the site in many ways. You can read for yourself at Cotsu's last RFA.
Good luck Cotsu!

Candidates Prelude
Questions for the candidate

Dear candidate, thank you for offering to serve D&D Wiki in this capacity. Please take the time to answer a few generic questions to provide guidance for voters:

1. What sysop chores do you anticipate helping with? Please read the page about administrators and the administrators' reading list on Wikipedia before answering.
A: My current objective is to reactivate the DND Magazine project. I think it is an excellent opportunity for the wiki to work as a team to foster that wonderful spirit of teamwork which is the root of all good parties. If allowed I would love to charge into this as soon as possible in addition to having additional tools to continue saving abandoned and stubbed pages as I have been doing.
2. Of your articles or contributions to D&D Wiki, are there any with which you are particularly pleased, and why?
A: I am particularly fond of my The Trifadishti Petals (5e Pantheon) which I created through rigorous hours of study as well as my Deathslinger (5e Class) which was created with the help of several users and I think stands as a testament to the wikis ability to work as a team.
3. Have you been in any conflicts over editing in the past or do you feel other users have caused you stress? How have you dealt with it and how will you deal with it in the future?
A: I can thankfully say I have never gotten into any sort of conflict with another user. I want to deal with future conflicts in a calm and confident manner lest we not forget that the point of this wiki is to create. When we get past all of the "this is to silly" and "this isn't properly balanced", we have to remember that the purpose is to foster creativity and issues like this should be handled with encouragement and assistance, not belittling and beat downs.

Discussion

  • Will you be answering the questions above? Are you planning on bringing the magazine back into swing, or what is your position on that? --Green Dragon (talk) 23:43, 1 August 2018 (MDT)
  • What do you feel has changed since the previous nomination that makes you more suited for the role of an administrator? —ConcealedLightChatmod.png (talk) 08:27, 3 August 2018 (MDT)
During the last RFA I was much less active on the wiki than now. I had no set goal in mind and was more than anything just looking for the ability to take on more janitorial roles. While that is still a priority, I now have several projects in which I believe that administrators tools would allow me to complete/ help others complete and have attempted to be on the wiki everyday to increase its efficiency and ease of use. I know I do not have the contributions that most administrators have and understand if that makes some reserved to support me, but I hope that my teambuilding ability and lack of conflict help to offset that. Cotsu Malcior (talk) 09:05, 3 August 2018 (MDT)
I see. Could you list/link these projects for convenience? I believe you were working on the orphaned pages and you're currently working on getting the magazine up and running. —ConcealedLightChatmod.png (talk) 09:26, 3 August 2018 (MDT)
Of course. I am working on a full reactivation of the DND wiki magazine to help the community have more projects to work on. I am combing through the uncategorized and abandoned pages for 5e and 3.5e to put them in their proper place. I am attempting to cut done the number of improving/reviewing templates on classes in particular by bringing them up to snuff, and Im thinking about running a playtesting workshop where I can help players playtest their creations to ensure balance before they are finished. Cotsu Malcior (talk) 09:45, 3 August 2018 (MDT)
Thank you. How do you plan on executing the last one? —ConcealedLightChatmod.png (talk) 20:34, 4 August 2018 (MDT)
I have been thinking of possibly using an outside source such as Wikifoundry to maintain multiple simple play by post one shot adventures to allow characters to get a taste of what their homebrew races/classes are capable of. Of course i could do this on the wiki as well simply by making a category for it which I would maintain with the help of a few of my friends as well as seeing if anyone on the wiki wanted to help. I would have multiple pages of simple Play by Post games which users could edit in their free time after being added to a party. This would tell them not only how well their race and class were balanced but also how it behaves with others. Cotsu Malcior (talk) 02:30, 5 August 2018 (MDT)
I see. I'm unsure of how well that will work how compared to some of the other methods of testing such as the same game test. If I may, why not use the wiki own play by post area, in DnD Discussion? —ConcealedLightChatmod.png (talk) 03:45, 5 August 2018 (MDT)

An excellent suggestion CL and one that i will surely take to heart. Using a part of the wiki that is already designed for it makes mych more sense. Cotsu Malcior (talk) 04:54, 5 August 2018 (MDT)

  • Hey, it's a Cotsu. That person is more in-line with collaborative spirit than even I claim to be. Admin tools would only help them in that endeavour. --SgtLion (talk) 23:47, 31 July 2018 (MDT)
