Broadswords were not particularly heavy compared to other basket-hilt swords. Additionally, they were mostly used for slashing rather than stabbing as the basket-hilt would occasionally hinder the thrusting motion. PunnyDM12 (talk) 21:41, 21 November 2018 (MST)

QA Nomination[edit]

May need some flavor polish and an image, but mechanically this fills a pretty simple hole in the default weapons, and could be slotted into any campaign. Salasay 08:39, 13 January 2024 (MST)

  • Support - looks perfectly serviceable to me. +0.5 damage compared to other one-handed weapons I don't think is a big deal; it's more expensive and there's no other bells and whistles to complicate it. QAs do not need an image, but I'll rustle one up. Marasmusine (talk) 15:07, 13 January 2024 (MST)
  • Support - I agree with the other supporting reasons. --Green Dragon (talk) 10:43, 16 January 2024 (MST)
  • Support - It's a fine page. Honestly, alongside the saber I fully consider the broadsword to just be a part of the game by default. It's that inoffensive. --ZarHakkar (talk) 00:43, 22 November 2024 (MST)

Suggestion[edit]

Since the "basket-hilted sword" was developed in the 16th centuryWP, I suggest the Renaissance tag be added to this weapon, which could justify the +0.5 average damage advantage it has over other one-handed martial weapons. Marasmusine (talk) 02:17, 14 January 2024 (MST)
