Toshaka's Gift (5e Spell)

From D&D Wiki

Scales.png This page is of questionable balance. Reason: Allows for too many game breaking mechanics. Casting this with every spell slot available before a long rest. Or just taking a week to prepare for a large adventure by stockpiling stones. See talk page for more discussion.

You can help D&D Wiki by better balancing the mechanics of this page. When the mechanics have been changed so that this template is no longer applicable please remove this template. If you do not understand balance please leave comments on this page's talk page before making any edits.

Toshaka's gift
2nd-level Transmutation
Casting time: 1 minute/Ritual 1 Hour
Range: touch
Components: a small stone or pebble, which the spell consumes

The user transforms a small stone o pebble into a magical gem. The gem has the same shape as the pebble, but gets the appearance of a ruby, sapphire, emerald or any similar jewel. The magical gem can be used as a 1st level spell slot by any creature that can use magic, even if he or she has lost his magic (for example, by using wish) but remember the spell. When the gem is used, it shines and turns into useless dust. Two or more gems can be used like a spell slot of greater level (the same as the number of gems used, until a maximum of 8, with 4 gems in each hand) even if the user doesn't have a slot of that level. Also, the gem works as a spellcasting focus. You cannot have more than 10 gems at the same time, if 11 or more magical stones are together in an area of 30ft, their magic becomes unstable and every gem explodes, dealing 1d8 force damage to any creature within a 5ft sphere near the gem. For example, if you have 4 gems and know the chromatic orb spell, you can spend the 4 gems and cast chromatic orb at 4th level without spending a 4th level spell slot, and even if you doesn't have any 4th level spell slot.

At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 3rd level or higher, you can transform 1 additional pebble per level above the 2nd
