Musicus Meter
Score: 6
This race has a score of 6 according to the Musicus Meter race guidelines. With this metric, first-party races' scores range from 4.5 to 8. This is a guideline, not a rule, and it's important to use your own judgment alongside this scoring.
This scoring may be the groundwork for a focused {{needsbalance}} usage. A contributor to this page may request a detailed breakdown of this page's balance. Without this information, {{needsbalance}} may then be removed. This meter cannot be the sole basis for a needsbalance template, but may be included as an accessory to a wider discussion of a race's balance.
This template should only be placed on a race's talk page. If this template is not placed on the talk page, please move it.

Featured Article Nomination[edit]

Hey, everyone, EpicBoss99 here. I wanted to nominate this page for featured because this race has been the most fun I've ever had making a race on this website! I put a WHOLE LOT of time and effort into making this an enjoyable race to play as well as being a unique addition to D&D Wiki. It would absolutely mean the world to me if this piece was featured on my favorite website. Thank you, and I can't wait to hear yall's feedback!

Support

  • What can I say except that the idea of a tiny bird going around murdering things is hilarious? Also the species is well balanced, fits the theme well, and doesn't make the GM want to strangle you by having 47 paragraphs of material to go through. Also it's a bird and I like birds.

  • I created it, so I'm gonna support it. :)

Oppose

  • I would say this race is of questionable use even considering the average score on the Musicus Meter. The race has an absurdly high flying speed, it has its main ability score in Dexterity to partial offset not being able to fly while wearing medium or heavy armor, it has a negative ability score(there are no negative ability scores in 5e in 1st party content), and even in a fantasy game, it is hard to image a 8.5in tall race on average wielding a longsword and only having half the carrying capacity of a medium sized race. Plus, I would imagine users using this race might not abide by the Tiny Player Characters variant rule, even if it is used to help balance out tiny characters. Overall this might make for a fun homebrew race, but I do not believe it is featured article material.--Blobby383b (talk) 11:13, 21 January 2018 (MST)
  • I like the concept and the lore, but its got many negatives to offset one, huge positive. It's just too niche for D&D! Varkarrus (talk) 11:27, 21 January 2018 (MST)

Hey, guys,

Thank you so much for your feedback! I'm happy for those that enjoyed the concept and lore, but for those that gave me feedback on the balance, i'm going to have to agree with you. For that reason, I'm going to remove this race from running for featured. Thank you to everyone who left a comment, and I hope you still enjoy my fun, gimmicky race, even though it isn't quite featured material. I sure had a lot of fun making it! :D
