You touch a piece of paper or a spell scroll, imbuing it with magical energy that allows it to move and hover. As a bonus action on your turn, you can telepathically issue simple commands to control the animated paper, directing it to move anywhere within 60 feet of you. The paper is limited to flying, hovering, and folding itself, and cannot perform any other actions. If the paper moves more than 60 feet away from you, or if your concentration is broken, the spell ends and the paper falls to the ground.
When you control a spell scroll in this way, you can command it to hover in front of a creature within range that can read it. The creature can then cast the associated spell without needing a free hand to hold the scroll. The creature must still meet any other requirements to cast the spell, such as verbal or somatic components, and expend any necessary spell slots.
At Higher Levels. When you cast this spell using a spell slot of 2nd level or higher, the range of control increases by 30 feet for each slot level above 1st. Additionally, the maximum duration of the spell increases: using a 3rd level spell slot extends the duration to 10 minutes, a 4th level slot extends it to 1 hour, and a 5th level slot or higher extends it to 8 hours. These extensions require concentration.
