Talk:Behemoth (5e Class)[edit]

Hey King Kawaii Kun, I've reached out on the Behemoth talk page to discuss the reason you keep editing the class's HD. Thanks. ~ BigShotFancyMan (talk) 10:23, 31 January 2019 (MST)

Hello. I'm fairly new to the wiki here. I felt that the Behemoth class was lacking in terms of balance into the later levels so I decided to give it a better start at some of the beginning levels. Since it is a class that is meant for single target damage I thought that the payoff for only have one attack per turn needed to be greater. I have tested this class out before and I found it also lacking if you did not have proper equipment in more high fantasy campaigns in the later levels. I hope that you can agree with some of the changes I made. Thanks for letting me know.

Others have voiced concerns about the feel of the class. There's been a lot of discussion over the last year working on this, and not once was the Hit Die mentioned. I would prefer to keep it at d10 and find ways to deliver more damage, as is the spirit of the class but as you read, the class is pretty good for a standard 5th Edition D&D setting.
In regards to equipment, 5th edition is designed to disregard magic items. Meaning you don't need them. We shouldn't design material for high fantasy campaigns, or if we do there needs to be disclaimers placed. In general I don't agree with many of the changes people have made. I thought between Half Hearted Avenger, Blobby, and myself we had a pretty complete class. Perhaps you can evaluate the campaign your in or consider if your DM is creating challenges too difficult for your party? ~ BigShotFancyMan (talk) 08:02, 1 February 2019 (MST)

It is highly possible that the campaign that I am in is very difficult and that might be part of the bias that I have. I did not however make the initial change to the hit dice. Most of the subtle changes I have made myself. Hopefully it stays fairly balanced in the future. It is one of the most well made classes on this wiki and I would hate to see it become grossly imbalanced.
