Spell Lists not working

Some of the spell types in User D&D Wiki are not displaying any spells, even though there are spells made for that category (just like the conjuration spell section which you fixed). Divination spells is not working, and neither are the spell subtypes for conjuration and Divination. Can you fix them please? --Sam Kay 03:54, 6 October 2007 (MDT)

Sorry about not being able to fix them—I have not had that much time recently and I was always telling myself I would get around to it soon. That soon never came, so thank you Sam Kay for taking the initiative and fixing all the areas on DnD Spells/Powers that needed to be fixed. --Green Dragon 16:15, 9 October 2007 (MDT)

I'd love to join. How do I?

I have already Anonymously participated in a few discussions, and now I wish to become a DnD Wiki User. How do I do this? How do I get a user name? And since I've been working on the Wiki from two seperate computers, at home and school, I have two seperate numbers: 66.something and 71.something. How do I integrate them together? I'm sorry if this is not the correct place to post that question. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 71.145.129.241 (talkcontribs) 11:03, 7 October 2007 (MDT). Please sign your posts.

Just click on the log on/create account link in the corner of the screen, click on the create account link on the log on page and fill in the form. The click on "create account". This will create an account for you. I hope this was helpful. About the IP thing: I don' think there is much you can do there, but it doesn't really matter much, so just ignore it. --Sam Kay 11:18, 7 October 2007 (MDT)
Never Mind! Thank you very much indeed. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Sir Milo Teabag (talkcontribs) 11:19, 7 October 2007 (MDT). Please sign your posts.
Actually this is a fine place to ask, and I am glad you got a good answer. --Green Dragon 17:06, 25 October 2007 (MDT)

Hello.

I figured I'd drop you a line and ask what can, and can't be posted on here. I was thinking about hurling some things from my spell books on, and I've got nearly all of the net books, but that being said: What can I not post? Only other wiki Ive worked on was Paragon Wiki, and nothing on there is under CR Law. Thanks. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Nikal Olderoff (talkcontribs) 15:09, 8 October 2007 (MDT). Please sign your posts.

Anything you have made can be posted on D&D Wiki. Just go to the correct area and press "Add your own..." and it should have instructions on how to do this. Hope this helps. --Green Dragon 17:08, 25 October 2007 (MDT)

Question about the wiki content

Question: will Wizards ever officially or unofficially recognize the content posted here as new ideas in the making? I ask this because of their humorous idea of releasing yet another edition to our core rules... Would they ever consider hosting the Wikiworld project as a campaign setting source project, in your opinion? If they do, I want my Inath info to be considered as an Appendix to the 4e Deities and Demigods. ;) Hey, it never hurts to dream... -- xido 14:45, 11 October 2007 (MDT)

I would imagine they would recognize it, but this site does not use their OGL license so I would imagine that they would not be to inclined to use content from D&D Wiki. Tis sad. --Green Dragon 16:31, 11 October 2007 (MDT)
That is sad... Balls! Oh well. We will have to do a little advertisement to get people to come over and peruse then, if that's the case. Perusers are always more apt to like what they see then those who are being pushed into checking things like this out. -- xido 18:06, 11 October 2007 (MDT)
D&D Wiki already gets around 1800 unique visitors/day with around 100000 hits/day. Yesterday D&D Wiki's stats were 1663 unique visitors, 92825 pages viewed, 125592 hits made, and 719.81 MB of bandwidth used. The visitors were well below average, and the rest was a bit above the average though. D&D Wiki is not bad off. However, if you really feel that it needs a little push, feel free to donate to D&D Wiki and we can put your donations torwards AdWords on Google, or something like that :). However, D&D Wiki will have an end of the year fundraiser (maybe for a new server or more RAM) so you could always just wait for that if you are feeling generous in that kind of way... --Green Dragon 23:01, 11 October 2007 (MDT)

SRD Cleric Domains

Sorry about adding the dubbled pages. Didnt know that there was a another area for the SRD.--Nikal Olderoff 02:50, 15 October 2007 (MDT)

It's all good. By the way, I am sorry that you wasted your time adding them... --Green Dragon 15:59, 15 October 2007 (MDT)

Wow, Back Again

From now on, further updates on my progress of any kind for this will be posted under this heading, to avoid clutter. Just finished up the Fighter page- it looks kinda broken to me, but I have no idea. I did write the Epic Class, though, so feel free to call me on that. It can be found here if you want to take a look. --The Archivist 07:18, 15 October 2007 (MDT)

I am not sure my talk page would be the best place to keep up your status since every so often things are archived from here... --Green Dragon 17:04, 25 October 2007 (MDT)

Where does this go?

I want to add something called an iconomaster, which is essentially the most powerful member of a given class or race in a Campaign setting. (in other words, the most powerful NPC that belongs to that group, like an Aelan Mooneye would be the most powerful elf.)

I don't know which section this idea would go under, though.

It's more of a title than a class, and more of a trait an NPC can earn than an actual NPC. Where would the general definition of that term go? --Sir Milo Teabag 10:59, 20 October 2007 (MDT)

Er... That is actually a hard one... Currently D&D Wiki does have a very organized place for definitions. I would, honestly, just put it under 3.5e Other for now. --Green Dragon 22:48, 21 October 2007 (MDT)

Boots of Dexterity

Tell me more about the boots. I thirst for knowledge of the boots! I would very much like to wear these boots, as they would allow my spine shattering Rogue to dance through the shadows and cast an ominous cloud of fear and destruction among the general unsuspecting populous. Yes....YES... I can almost TASTE the power eminating from these coveted wonders. --Shadow Whisper —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 12.110.18.165 (talkcontribs) 16:47, 24 October 2007 (MDT). No problem. --Green Dragon 14:06, 23 November 2007 (MST)

Looks like I forgot to log in....

The last edit to Daeijilund Illithids was me, just at a different location. I had left out an important detail about their telepathy I belief. Unfortunately I don't know how to revert it myself, so if you could return it to the latest changed state, that would be peachy and everything would be made of sunshine, lollipops, and candy. -- Eiji 02:22, 25 October 2007 (MDT)

I would be happy to revert the changes, however I am not sure what the page you are talking about is. I would be very happy if you could supply me a link, thanks. --Green Dragon 18:46, 29 October 2007 (MDT)

Trip

I will be going to capitol reef national park (southern utah) this weekend. Just giving everyone here a heads up as to why I will not be making an edits! --Green Dragon 12:27, 27 October 2007 (MDT)

Back. --Green Dragon 18:58, 29 October 2007 (MDT)
Huh, you where gone? --Sam Kay 12:00, 2 November 2007 (MDT)
Yeah, I went to Capitol Reef national park last weekend. --Green Dragon 22:14, 2 November 2007 (MDT)

Thanks

Cheers for putting devilweed in the right section i don't know how to do that, also i did a section on orcus, could you put it under demi-gods, cheers. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 59.100.196.166 (talkcontribs) 23:51, 7 November 2007 (MDT). Please sign your posts.

Zombies!!

Oh shit... I just bought myself a shotgun to make sure that they don't get me. You? --Green Dragon 18:53, 9 November 2007 (MST)
I, for reasons we won't go into, already have quite the arsenal... --Calidore Chase 14:43, 10 November 2007 (MST)
lol :P. --Green Dragon 20:28, 13 November 2007 (MST)

I Goofed

Apperently, as I was desinging the Culture Control Epic Spell, I accidentally made it a normal Spell, so it reads Culture Control (DnD Spell) instead of Culture Control (DnD Epic Spell). It should be a simple problem, but I can't move it into another category. (Or figure out a spell seed, for that matter.) Can you? Thank you. --Sir Milo Teabag 20:55, 8 November 2007 (MST)

Done! --Calidore Chase 07:12, 9 November 2007 (MST)
Thank you Calidore Chase :). --Green Dragon 18:55, 9 November 2007 (MST)

RPG Superstar

So... Anyone else submitting an entry to this contest from Paizo? --Calidore Chase 14:31, 12 November 2007 (MST)

What is RPG superstar? I did a very quick google check and it did not pop up... --Green Dragon 20:28, 13 November 2007 (MST)
Too late now, it was a contest being put on by Paizo (Former publishers of Dragon and current publishers of the pathfinder series) first submission was a wondrous item, needed to be in by yesterday. --Calidore Chase 06:59, 15 November 2007 (MST)
Oh, too bad. Did you enter? --Green Dragon 23:13, 17 November 2007 (MST)
Yep, created a new item. Course they own it now so I can't post it here, but if you are interested in seeing it I could try to email it to you. --Calidore Chase 02:02, 18 November 2007 (MST)
It's not a big deal. I was just curious if you ended up entering the competition. --Green Dragon 08:53, 18 November 2007 (MST)

Class Rating

I'm still a bit out in the open about what to do when your class has been rated by someone. It is still displayed as Not-Rated. Could I have an explanation of how this works? Thanks in advance. --Sulacu 00:40, 13 November 2007 (MST)

The rating to the High Priest (DnD Class) has been added. Normally, when one goes through recent changes (RC) to see what is happening and they see a rating given to a certain class they add it right away (any user can do this—this is not a sysop only job, all that has to be done is change Template:Balance on the page and change the dplc to include the rating). The rating to the High Priest (DnD Class), however, was not seen by anyone that checked RC, so it was never added. To make sure this never happens again there are a number of ways you can prevent it. One is to MoI a user that knows how to add them or tell him/her about it. Another is to add a response to it—if this is done it has another chance to be seen and added! Finally, and the best solution of all, is to check RC yourself and add then add ratings yourself—on any class! Checking RC is beneficial for a number of reasons. One is that you can see important discussions that are currently going on on D&D Wiki and keep up with them, another is that you can see what other users are doing to your or someone else's creations, and, finally, if one helps with normal tasks on D&D Wiki that do not just involve there own creations they will soon be nominated for adminship! --Green Dragon 20:26, 13 November 2007 (MST)
Thanks. I was just not sure about proper procedure. I am still learning how all of this works :O. I'll be sure to look around better next time. --Sulacu 21:26, 13 November 2007 (MST)
Okay. Just remember, any user can change a rating, no special privileges are needed :). --Green Dragon 21:28, 13 November 2007 (MST)

Having Difficulty

I cant seem to figure out how to use the NPC template. maybe I am just wikiretarded or something. I cant seem to figure out what I am doing wrong. I need to move on to other projects for right now but I would realy like to learn how to do this for I have many good NPCs for this webpage.--Mander 15:51, 18 November 2007 (MST)

Go ahead and add an NPC (or give your best attempt at doing so), and once you have the page saved, I'll help you with the whats, hows, and whys. —Sledged (talk) 21:17, 18 November 2007 (MST)
Adding NPC's here uses the most advanced preload on D&D Wiki, so it's okay if you feel overwhelmed by it. All you need to do is do the best you can, press save, and supply me a link here and I will format it so it acts like it should. Hope this helps. --Green Dragon 10:40, 22 November 2007 (MST)
Alright, I added the NPC. It didnt turn out very well, but all the information is there... if not hidden Charity (DnD NPC). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Mander (talkcontribs) 21:13, 30 November 2007 (MDT). Please sign your posts.
Ok, I made another attempt but am still having some troble, take a look --Mander 02:37, 4 December 2007 (MST)
It has been dealt with, right? --Green Dragon 16:28, 5 December 2007 (MST)
Ok, I tried again, this time with a charecter Grace. I thought that if I just copied Charity and changed it to fit Grace everything would work out ok. Apperantly not. Seems I made a rather big mess. There is a copy of a Charity/Grace mix on the DnD CR 2 page. It might be best to delet all of it and let me try again, or maybe some one can find my mistakes and tweek them to make them work. I promiss I will figure this stuff out at some point.--Mander 15:11, 8 December 2007 (MST)
Fixed. I put her on the CR 1 page because she has NPC class levels. —Sledged (talk) 23:02, 8 December 2007 (MST)
Thanks Sledged! --Green Dragon 15:59, 9 December 2007 (MST)

Question about Homebrew Equipment

Hello, I'm new here and to the whole wiki thing in general and I was wondering if it would be all right for me to add a category to the Homebrew Equipment list. I was hoping to add Transportation and under that add stats for an airship.

As I said I'm new to the whole wiki thing and I know it's meant so that anyone can edit anything, but I don't like to mess with someone else's stuff without asking permission first. Thank you, Tommy19 09:48, 19 November 2007

This question has been brought up quite a few times before and every time it has fallen through because the user that asked about it never ended up making anything. I imagine this will not happen this time as well :), so... You make some stats for an airship, place it in Other and as soon as it is on D&D Wiki I will make a new category in Equipment that deals with "vehicles". Sound good? --Green Dragon 10:37, 22 November 2007 (MST)
Sorry that I haven't seen your reply before now. RL seems to seek an end to my D&D efforts at the moment *prods real life with a chair and cracks his whip* I have the information for the airship already up on my Campaign page so I'll copy it over to the Equipment ASAP. Tommy19 21:46, 29 November 2007 (MST)
Okay, it's done. It's titled Skyship (DnD Other). Tommy19 22:17, 29 November 2007 (MST)
A new area in "Equipment" has been made—vehicles. Your skyship has been added. Hope you like it :). --Green Dragon 22:42, 4 December 2007 (MST)
Thanks for adding it. --Tommy19 18:51, 27 December 2007 (MST)
No problem. --Green Dragon 19:31, 27 December 2007 (MST)

Thanks for tweaking my images

"Green Dragon", I noticed you tweaked my images--thanks! I hope you like them. I'm having fun drawing/painting them so if you want me to stop you're going to have to tell me. Of course, I'm donating them into the public domain. I know some more illustrators who may be willing to add more art in the near future. Take it easy! - Justin 23:20, 19 November 2007. Justin_louis@yahoo.com

Those images are a great addition. I don't think Green will mind. I think they add a lot to the wiki. Thanks. —Sledged (talk) 10:00, 22 November 2007 (MST)
Yes, thanks a lot for adding all the images you have! Almost since this wiki was formed images have been needed, and things have been tagged with {{ImageNeeded}}. You are the first user, in the history of this wiki, that has added a lot of images to creations that have not been made by oneself. Thanks a lot, and I must say I think they look very good! Thanks! --Green Dragon 10:30, 22 November 2007 (MST)

You should make a file for the races

You should make one for the races with pictures and stats so it would be easer for us but it would take a long time so in your spare time could you do it. Oh it is DS. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Styxdragon (talkcontribs) 21:52, 24 November 2007 (MDT). Please sign your posts.

All the SRD races (the ones in the PHB and MM) can be found within the SRD. Also, the pictures are copyrighted so they cannot appear on D&D Wiki. Sorry for the inconvenience. --Green Dragon 16:36, 26 November 2007 (MST)
We could get some non licensed picts. They dont have to be official DnD picts, any google image search will do (lol porn jokes). —The preceding unsigned comment was added by T G Geko (talkcontribs) 19:35, 27 December 2007 (MST). Please sign your posts.
If you can find any pictures that would work please feel free to post them on the associated talk page. --Green Dragon 19:50, 27 December 2007 (MST)

Respawn!

I think this is how you leave a MoI. Well, if not, oops. Ding, files done. Talk:Disciple of the Flame (DnD Prestige Class). -- Eiji 00:42, 27 November 2007 (MST)

To leave an MoI just press the blue "MoI a user about this change" on the bottom (to the right of "Save Page", "Show Preview", etc) and fill out the form. Hope this helps :). --Green Dragon 11:59, 2 December 2007 (MST)
Also, I have responded on that page. --Green Dragon 23:29, 2 December 2007 (MST)

His user page, I feel, will soon be deleted because it is so rude. The community will decide if it will get deleted. --Green Dragon 15:55, 9 December 2007 (MST)

Hope I am doing more good then harm.

I have a lot to contribut to this wiki. I hope that I am not causing to much extra work for you guys. I know my spelling is bad and I am not very good at wikicode yet. I am trying my darndest. Thanks for all your help and thanks for making this wiki.--Mander 19:57, 7 December 2007 (MST)

Mander, your contributions are excellent. Getting contributions from all kinds of people is what this wiki is about. We don't mind helping clean up a bit of wiki-syntax or doing grammar edits now and then; we're just glad you are willing to add material to the wiki! Like I said, that's what it's all about! –EldritchNumen 15:28, 8 December 2007 (MST)
Stay with this wiki for long enough, and you'll be much better at coding and spelling. When I joined, I had very little grasp of wikicode, and My spelling was poor. Now I have a good grasp of wiki-code, and I am better at spelling. It all comes with experience. I definatly agree with EldritchNumen. And if you don't understand a part of the wikicode, just ask someone, and they may be able to help. --Sam Kay 12:39, 9 December 2007 (MST)
As far as knowing wiki-markup, this was my first contribution. —Sledged (talk) 13:39, 9 December 2007 (MST)
I would just like to reiterate what was said above—we really do not mind helping fixing wiki-syntax problems in the name of new material. Keep adding everything you can :)! --Green Dragon 15:58, 9 December 2007 (MST)

Why so much Admin trouble?

It seems fairly odd to me that there have been 4 nominations for adminship in the last week. I'm guessing that DnD Wiki needs all the help it can get. I hope someobdy wins the nomination soon. --Sir Milo Teabag 11:58, 8 December 2007 (MST)

I have been nominating a lot of people recently mainly because I think a lot of people have deserved it for quite a while now and I have just been to lazy to set up a RfA page for them. Also, I feel D&D Wiki needs more admins, so... Anyway, I agree. I hope someone wins one soon! --Green Dragon 16:02, 9 December 2007 (MST)

MoI?

Ah, GD. Why did you give me an MoI? Regards Pwsnafu 19:09, 10 December 2007 (MST)

The Template talk:Welcome Message#Ideas one or the Talk:Hero-Bard of Awesomeness (DnD Optimized Character Build)#So it's not a bard build at all? one? If it was the latter I thought you may have wanted to respond, that was all. Sorry if it annoyed you. --Green Dragon 19:11, 10 December 2007 (MST)
Wow that was quick! It would be the latter. It's just that, there's nothing to respond to. On another note, the archmage page has the sentence The archmage can alter area and effect spells that use one of the following shapes: which shouldn't be italics. Thought you wanted the heads up. Regards --Pwsnafu 19:15, 10 December 2007 (MST)
Your response was quick as well, I guess that is what happens when two people are on at once :). Anyway, the italics problem has been fixed on the archmages page. Thanks for alerting me about that, and sorry about the worthless MoI. --Green Dragon 19:19, 10 December 2007 (MST)

Talk Redirects

I've been trying to get rid of some of the double redirects and was wondering if I shouldn't just go ahead and delete talk double redirects? --Calidore Chase 09:43, 11 December 2007 (MST)

First off, I have seen your work removing the current double redirects, and I would just like to say thank you. Secondly, I do not think it really matters if the talk double redirects are deleted or not. I think you can decide if you would like to delete them or keep them. Thirdly, and totally off subject, it would be awesome if you could start leaving comments on the edits you make (just to help me make RC go by quicker...). Anyway, thanks in advance for your work on the double redirects. --Green Dragon 18:15, 11 December 2007 (MST)
I've had a bit of time at work to kill and thought that this was a good enough example of something painful yet necessary, so it fit with the whole work concept... :) Will add comment "Fixed redirect" to all double redirect edits whether it is an erasure (which will be done only for pointless redirects - i.e. ones with no links that are not a commonly typed in search query) or simply a redirect update. Sound good? --Calidore Chase 20:49, 11 December 2007 (MST)
Sounds good. --Green Dragon 14:32, 12 December 2007 (MST)

Questions

What does the Tavern do? --Lt.Dan 11:52, 13 December 2007 (MST)

Oh, don't worry about the tavern question. How do you make a table? --Lt.Dan 11:52, 13 December 2007 (MST)
The Tavern is D&D Wiki's local chat room. Wikipedia made a good introduction article on how to make a table. Link here. If you have any more questions I would be more than happy to help. Good gaming! --Green Dragon 22:22, 19 December 2007 (MST)

User Page

Hey GD, I'd like to start working on my user home page, and its portions (which are currently links to sub-pages I cannot figure out how to code...) I would like the template to work for me, but have no clue how to put it all together. Any help you can give? Thanks, man. -- xido 23:49, 16 December 2007 (MST)

I would be more than happy to help, just what is the exact problem you would like me to look at? Thanks. --Green Dragon 12:20, 17 December 2007 (MST)

Hello

Hi, and thanks for creating something I dreamt of but was too lazy and computer illiterate to make any commitments. One question, is it against rules if I scour the net for Homebrew content and post? I will ofcourse give credit to any creators who credit themselves. --DeadChainer 12:20, 17 December 2007 (MST)

It is not at all a problem to do that. If the creation is licensed under the OGL then feel free to post it, as long as you state the author and/or source. Finally, if you find a creation that does not have a license then you must ask the author if it is okay to post it here, then you can post it here. I hope this helps, and I hope you find a lot of material you can post here. Thanks in advance. --Green Dragon 18:48, 17 December 2007 (MST)

Knight (Seamost) class

Hello. I was hoping you could help me change the name of my article from "Knight" to "Knight(Seamost)." I don't know how to edit that.

I would say the Knight article is no longer a stub. Also, it would probably be appropriate to shut off the fowarding on the Talk page and let the Knight (Seamost) have his own discussion (I'd really like the feedback.) While I'm impressed with how quickly the Wikians put together the "Cavalier" class, it doesn't have anything to do with what I'm trying to do (I have a sneaking suspicion that had I known how to properly format the class to show it was part of the "Seamost" campaign setting, people might have understood better what I was trying to do.) --S1Q3T3 16:27, 18 December 2007 (MST)

I moved your class. Also, as soon as you feel this class should not be labeled as stub, description needed, or that is does not need to be wikfied feel free to remove these templates. --Green Dragon 21:48, 18 December 2007 (MST)

Double Redirects

Barnstar.png Barnstar
I give Calidore Chase this barnstar for removing all the double redirects as of 22:11, 19 December 2007 (MST). Thanks a lot for removing all of them, it had needed to be done for quite a while, and you finally took the initiative and completed this task. Thanks a lot. --Green Dragon 22:11, 19 December 2007 (MST)

Woot they are all cleared out! Now I just need to go through regular redirects and get rid of irrelevant ones. --Calidore Chase 09:47, 19 December 2007 (MST)

Here you go! --Green Dragon 22:11, 19 December 2007 (MST)
