This race has too many traits. Here's the rating. The target is 4.5

Core race:

  • Standard ability scores (0)
  • Darkvision (1)
  • Keen Senses (1) - skill proficiency
  • Pawerful healer (0.5) - Firstly, "healing" and "health" and "recovering health naturally" are not defined in 5th edition. I will assume this means something like "when you cause another creature to recover hit points, roll a d4 and add the result to the number of hit points recovered."
  • Bipedal beast (0.5) - It's not clear how dual types work. 5th edition has been careful to avoid this. If someone casts charm person on you, does it work because you are humanoid, or not work because you are a beast? Can a druid wildshape into you?
  • core total = 3

Feyline:

  • Weapon training (0.5)
  • Feyline lander (2) - constant advantage on a skill
  • Suppawter (0.5) - cantrip
  • total = 6

Melnyx:

  • weapon training (0.5)
  • Superior darkvision (0.5) - This normally goes with the mitigating sunlight sensitivity trait
  • Melnyx cunning (4) - constant advantage on two skills
  • total = 8

Grimalkynes

  • weapon training (0.5)
  • obscure learning (0.5)
  • mask of the wild (0.5)
  • friend to animals (provisionally 0.5) - As written, this trait doesn't do anything. A familiar is something conjured by the wizard's find familiar spell. Are you saying that this race can cast find familiar? Or is this supposed to be more like an animal companion?
  • total = 5

The traits that grant skill advantage are the main problem. Advantage is supposed to be a circumstantial benefit, not constant. Marasmusine (talk) 00:56, 14 May 2019 (MDT)

The base advantages can be done away with sure, as well as the cantrips. I feel they don't work too well in this case anyway. I'd make the target maybe a 5 or 6 as I look at this--Yanied (talk) 20:40, 14 May 2019 (MDT)
See changes made. I believe the dual typing isn't necessarily meant to be a benefit, at least from how other dual-typed races have sounded. The ability score has been cut down and a significant cull has been made of the race. I shall defer judgment on whether it has been sufficiently balanced or even made underpowered to you to remove the tag.--Yanied (talk) 21:00, 14 May 2019 (MDT)
