What does floating a weapon do?[edit]

Later on it says you can attack with them as a bonus action, but what about right at 1st level? If you can float 1 one-handed weapon per Blade Savant level, what's the purpose of the 14th level increase? —Proton[talk] 21:37, 5 November 2015 (MST)

Furthermore, what's going on with Arcane Wounds? It deals a set amount of psychic damage (a single event) but then says it lasts for 10 minutes (a sustained event)? Marasmusine (talk) 02:34, 6 November 2015 (MST)
With spinning slash, I can attack another creature at 10 feet, does the creature still need to be in my weapon's reach? Marasmusine (talk) 02:37, 6 November 2015 (MST)
I've also noticed a few features that do some non-5e things such as round counting (speeding death, power smash) and some AC adjustments where other mechanics would be better. Marasmusine (talk) 02:40, 6 November 2015 (MST)
Truth be told I also noted each of these things, I was just trying to get it to "functional and understandable" before addressing system cohesion and balance :P —Proton[talk] 02:42, 6 November 2015 (MST)

Any other modifications I could make? SirSprinkles (talk) 16:08, 25 November 2015 (MST) —The preceding unsigned comment was added by SirSprinkles (talkcontribs) 18:02, 12 November 2015 (MST). Please sign your posts.

Again, at 1st level it doesn't specify what you can actually do with floated weapons. Also, please make sure to sign your replies with ~~~~. —Proton[talk] 04:36, 17 November 2015 (MST)

Sorry just some more things about weapon float. What action does it take to float the weapons initially? Does it matter where the weapons are? (do they have to be in your possession, or can they be lying on the ground 10 feet away, can they already be wielded by someone else?) Do they just float where they are, or do they follow you? When you attack with one, do you do this with an Attack action or is it its own action? When you make a ranged attack, what is the range? What is the rationale behind the bonus damage types (unclear why a flying sword would be dealing psychic, necrotic or radiant damage). Marasmusine (talk) 02:56, 25 November 2015 (MST)

I think that I've cleaned up most of the issues with the Weapon Float. Any other issues? SirSprinkles (talk) 21:15, 14 December 2015 (MST)

Sure, if I delve into one section at random:
  • Liquid Agility - 5e doesn't have a "slowed" condition so you'll have to explain what this means.
  • Speeding Death - "you may increase all weapon damage that you deal by 2d4" -> "You deal an extra 2d4 damage with weapon attacks"
  • Spinning Slash - "two separate" -> "two different"; "you may attack another creature within 10 feet of you with the same weapons if you could attack this new target normally" is a complicated way of saying "You may make an attack with each of those weapons against another creature."
  • Power Smash - While not game breaking, the duration does not fit with the standardized 5e durations.
  • Forceful Slash - Making a creature unconscious basically defeats that creature in one shot. Spells that have a similar effect (power word kill, sleep) have a hit point limit so you can't one-shot powerful creatures. Marasmusine (talk) 05:03, 6 March 2016 (MST)
I think I've sorted those out now, anything else? SirSprinkles (talk) 01:32, 10 March 2016 (MST)
I removed {{stub}}. If there are more issues a different template would be more appropriate I find. --Green Dragon (talk) 16:17, 2 June 2016 (MDT)

Detect Life[edit]

With all due respect, what use does this have? In what way is this better than just walking up and attacking someone? --GD-Psycho (talk) 17:18, 11 August 2017 (MDT)
