There are already feats that grant proficiency with armour in the PHB. SirSprinkles (talk) 17:06, 18 March 2018 (MDT)

Even in its nerfed form provided by Blobby, this is still kind of a combination of two feats in the PHB for the price of one. I can see the point here, though. Even so, to me it seems like a design disclaimer—or something like it—might be warranted. - Guy (talk) 18:00, 7 June 2018 (MDT)
Really, I don't particularly like either version of this feat. The old version was too good and not really unique, and the current version seems weak while also being a combo of existing feats, and a PC will likely only use one type of armor anyway.
In the end, I feel like this feat should be reworked to do something different, as the design space for this feat seems to have been already taken by the 1st party feats.--Blobby383b (talk) 18:45, 7 June 2018 (MDT)
I think it has a worthwhile niche. A wizard or other "armorless" class with low or little Dexterity could forgo mage armor to pick up this feat, granting them a very hefty 17 to 19 AC assuming the funds for decent armor. It's definitely worthwhile; I wouldn't call it weak. My only concern is that this version sort of combines two existing feats. Either one of those feats on its own is pretty mediocre on its own compared to other feats, and this cuts out the +2 Dex that would be gained from taking those two feats individually, so I feel like it is balanced enough. - Guy (talk) 06:34, 8 June 2018 (MDT)
