You create a beam of darkness, clouding the creature's vision. On a hit, the target takes 1d6 necrotic damage and the creature's vision is limited to a range of 10 feet, having its view clouded by magical darkness after this range for the duration of the spell.
The spell’s damage increases by 1d6 when you reach 5th level (2d6), 11th level (3d6), and 17th level (4d6).
