Reanimate Undead
1st-level Necromancy (ritual)
Casting time: 1 minute
Range: 10 feet
Components: V, S, M (earth from grave)
Duration: duration: Instantaneous

You reinfuse a semblance of life into an undead creature that has already been laid to rest, which is much easier to do than reanimating a body from scratch. Choose the remains of an Undead within range. This spell can reanimate: One undead with a challenge rating of 1/4. Two undead with a challenge rating of 1/8. Four undead with a challenge rating of 0. If nothing interferes with the spell (such as the effect of the Undying Remains spell), the target number of Undead will successfully rise again, or the spell fails. The reanimated Undead will exist and obey your commands for 24 hours, after which they will forever return to inert dust.

On each of your turns, you can use a bonus action to mentally command a creature created by this spell if it is within 60 feet of you (if you control multiple creatures, you can issue the same command to as many as you want at once). You decide what action the creature will take and where it will move on its next turn, or you can issue a general command, such as guarding a room or hallway. If you do not issue a command, the creature will simply defend itself against enemies. Once given an order, the creature continues to carry out that order until the task is completed.

At Higher Levels. If you cast this spell using higher slot levels, for every two slot levels above 3rd, the maximum undead damage allowed increases by one step (e.g. from 1/4 to 1/2, etc.), and the number of creatures doubles (e.g. using a 3rd-level slot, you can reanimate one creature with 1/2 damage, two with 1/4 damage, or eight creatures with 0 damage, while using a 5th-level slot, you can reanimate one creature with 1 damage, two with 1/2 damage, or sixteen creatures with 0 damage).
