Conrectus[edit]

These beings were brought back from death as a rare and marvelous creature. Conrectus are both a member of their old race and an entirely new race on their own. Some were brought back as a gift from the gods, others as a result of pure determination, but all of them live a life completely unlike the one they lived before.

Physical Description[edit]

Their body has a similar appearance to their previous body before death, however they are reformed as a "perfect" version of their former selves. They can taste and eat food, but they do not need it for nutrients and it is immediately dissipated upon swallowing. They possess relatively standard anatomy, however, they are infertile and lack a digestive tract.

Their "flesh" is warm to the touch, and lets out a bright white glow. Upon being wounded the flesh will get deformed, no blood or any equivalent is produced and it requires the same methods of healing as any other flesh. It has the same feel as soft, smooth human flesh but has a bit more give, like a very stiff memory foam.

Their entire body is either a white light grey, light blue, light yellow, or light red. Their facial and body features appear white or light grey if they have a white body. This body takes the image of their past body, so they can have their former races easily identified. They also retain all previous memories of when they were living.

Conrectus Traits[edit]

These beings were once living creatures, however, upon death their Mana compressed itself into a crystal and created a much different physical form, one that was formed of pure magic.
Ability Score Increase. Increase one ability score of your choice by 2 and one by 1, or increase 3 ability scores by 1.
Age. A Conrectus has not been observed to have died of old age. You are immune to magical aging effects.
Alignment. Your alignment is determined by who you were before death.
Size. Your size varies based on the race you were before dying.
Speed. Your base walking speed is 30 feet.
Reconstructed Resilience. You have advantage on saving throws against being poisoned, and you have resistance to poison damage.
Organ Twist. You don’t need to eat, drink, or breathe.
Hearty. You are immune to disease.
Unfamiliar Anatomy. You do you bleed.
Restless Spirit. You don't need to sleep, and magic can't put you to sleep.
Magical Glow. Your body glows with a dim light with a range of 15 feet and cannot be extinguished by anything other than your death. You have a disadvantage on Stealth checks.
Crystalline Soul. Upon your hit points reaching 0 and failing all 3 death saving throws, you do not die in a typical fashion. Your body dissipates and your "Soul", which is a crystal about the size of a heart, is left remaining. All of your belongings fall to the floor where they stand and the soul is present in the pile. You haven't completely died unless someone crushes the soul. If your soul gets destroyed, your life is ended and cannot be brought back by any mortal means.
Languages. You can speak, read, and write Common and one other language of your choice that relates to the race you were before death.
