Wondrous Item, legendary (requires attunement)

This great silver and amethyst key, trimmed in lapis lazuli, is 3 feet long, with a 1 foot wide turnpad, and a 6 inch set of teeth on the end. The power of this key is made to open the worlds and allow the caster and their party to traverse the dimensions at will. This key gives you a +2 bonus to your spell attack rolls, and your spell save DC increases by 2. You have a +2 bonus to attack and damage rolls with this key. The key can be used as a weapon, allowing the wielder to make two attacks when they make the Attack action if they can't already. These attacks can either deal 1d8 bludgeoning damage or 1d10 piercing damage, depending on whether you used the teeth which deal bludgeoning damage. When you use this weapon to attack, you must use both the teeth end that deals bludgeoning damage and the key that deals piercing damage in either order.

In addition, the key has two charges, and regains one charge at dawn. The attuned can use one charge to cast the plane shift spell, or two to cast the gate spell. If the user does not have spell slot levels for these spells, then the caster must make a successful ability check using their spell casting ability modifier. For plane shift, the DC is 17, and for gate, it is DC 19. When this spell is cast, unwilling creatures upon whom the spell is cast must succeed in a DC 18 Wisdom saving throw or be subject to the will of the caster and transported to the caster’s desired plane.
