A spring-loaded trap with spiked teeth usually used to hunt large animals.
If you miss a creature with a thrown attack using this weapon, or if you willingly place it on the ground while armed, the next creature to occupy a space determined at the time of the attack within 5 ft. of (but not in the same location as) the creature must succeed a DC 15 Dexterity saving throw or take 1d8 + 2 slashing damage. This counts as an attack for the following feature.
When you attack a creature with this weapon, you may force the target to attempt a DC 15 Strength saving throw. On a failure, the weapon latches onto their body and they take 1d8 piercing damage at the end of each of their turns. At the beginning of each of their turns, they may attempt a DC 15 Strength saving throw, ending this effect on a success. A creature within 5 ft. of a creature effected by this property may attempt this saving throw for them as a bonus action.
