Thornzu's Beam (5e Equipment)
From D&D Wiki
Weapon (heavy crossbow), very rare
This powerful crossbow created by an old artificer called Thornzu has a sophisticated network of decorated metal bands leading into a central crystal that can seemingly manipulate the weave. There are 6 bands in total, each one anchoring the weave around it.
Weave Snap. When attacked, you can use a reaction to open a hole in the weave and make an attack dealing 1d4 force damage.
Weave Knot. As a bonus action, you can tie the weave with itself and make an attack dealing 1d6 force damage.
Weave Tangle. As an action, you can adjust the crossbow, forming an intricate web in the weave. You can unleash it as an action dealing 1d12 force damage. This attack has advantage.
Weave Bolt. As an action, you can tie the weave into a single point. After 3 actions spent tying, you can unleash it dealing 2d12 force damage. This has advantage and on an attack roll of 19 or higher, it also paralyses the target until the end of their next turn.
Weave Spike. As an action, you can calibrate a single band of the crossbow. After calibrating all 6 bands, you can unleash it with another action concentrating a massive part of the weave into one point and dealing 4d12 force damage. This has advantage and on an attack roll of 17 or higher, it also paralyses the target until the end of their next turn. If you want, you can also roll on the wild magic table and force the target to use that wild magic effect.
