Talk:Way of Miko (5e Subclass)

For males this could be reflavored as an onmyoji at least based on class features, which is very good, I've been looking forward to a well made 'spell monk' actually draws from real life monks and this subclass seems like it fits that description like a glove.

Really? I had some concerns when I reworked this, thinking I made them a lot like Four Elements, where all of your features cost ki. Happy to see you like it though.
As for the reflavoring, I know nothing about what this is based on, or what an Onmyoji is. Would you care to clarify? --SwankyPants (talk) 06:36, 8 July 2021 (MDT)

An Onmyoji was a state founded yokai expert, as Japan had many run in with yokai and demons the Emperor founded a special branch of 'wizard exorcists' that were trained to study, capture, pacify and tame yokai, they had big conical hats and little talisman papers that warded off yokai and binded them to their will. And yes, this was a real position in Japan for a good while. --Xalvan
