Talk:Unarmored Bastion (5e Feat)

A monk wants three stats and three stats only--Dexterity, Constitution, and Wisdom. Why not let them use all three to calculate AC?

Memes aside, this feat falls into that peculiar balance space of "breakable, but otherwise weak" that a lot of stuff dealing with MAD has to work hard to avoid—either you're designing your build to abuse scalability of the feat for an AC that breaks the fundamental math of bounded accuracy, or you're spread too thin to get any benefit at all. In other words, either I rolled high enough to end up put 20s in all three abilities, and therefor have a potential AC of 24 (or 30 if I'm a Barbarian with that other feat), or I'm within the realm of point-buy and the feat isn't worth sacrificing the +2 ASI that I so desperately need to feed the monk's MAD.
