Talk:Mill (5e Equipment)

I did some research into windmills when I was writing my Vehicle Construction Kit supplement Revolutionary Vehicles.

A large eight-sailed 40-foot tall windmill cost about 8,000 gp, operated for 16-hours per day with 4 millers working in shifts, producing 3,200 lbs of flour - worth about 64 gp per day.

So I would say this article isn't too far off with its figure for a smaller windmill, gross profit might be closer to 600 gp per month if there are no complications. Marasmusine (talk) 11:14, 7 February 2023 (MST)

On that note, it might be worth saying if you mean gross profit or net profit. If it's the latter, you're spot on in my estimation. Marasmusine (talk) 11:18, 7 February 2023 (MST)

I will add stats for a bigger windmill, like the one you wuoted :) --NotalichIswear (talk) 12:07, 7 February 2023 (MST)

If you're interested, my system also gives the big windmill 400 hit points (damage threshold 10), AC 17. The 2,500 gp windmill I think would have 250 hit points (damage threshold 10) if it also has a stone tower. Marasmusine (talk) 12:21, 7 February 2023 (MST)
