Talk:Bowstring of Flame (5e Equipment)

A few notes about this item.

  • A magical item's powers should not scale off of a wielder's powers(in this case proficiency bonus), magical items have their own powers and do not suddenly gain additional ones by a PC attuning with it.
  • This item is far too powerful, as items that you don't need to hold that gives bonus are much better than those you do(+2 shield is the same rarity as +1 armor) and the bonus to attack rolls provided by this item is absurd and breaks bounded accuracy. A more balanced version of this item for example would only grant a +1 bonus to attack rolls and have a slightly increased damage die of 1d10.
  • Items that provide bonuses to attack rolls, damage rolls, saving throws, checks, ect. should generally require attunement as it is very likely that these kind of items can be abused.--Blobby383b (talk) 03:27, 14 August 2018 (MDT)
