This creature was created as part of the Player Equivalent CR variant rule using the Naruto: Shinobi (5e Class) class and Genin (5e Background) background, and as such does not follow traditional CR.

Chakra. Ro has 33 chakra points which he can expend. All chakra points are regained at the end of a long rest.

Evasion. When Ro is targeted by an area effect that lets him make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, such as fireball, he instead takes no damage if he succeeds on the saving throw, and only half damage if he fails the save.

Ninja Speed. Ro can take the dash, dodge, and disengage actions as a bonus action, and can move along vertical surfaces.

ACTIONS

Multiattack. Ro makes 3 unarmed strike or kunai attacks.

Unarmed Strike. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 12 (3d4 + 4) magical bludgeoning damage.

Tachi. Melee Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 8 (1d8 + 4) slashing damage. Ro may spend 3 chakra to increase this jutsu's range to 20 feet and give it a +1 bonus to attack and damage rolls.

Kunai (0-3 Chakra). Ranged Weapon Attack: +9 to hit, range 20/60 ft., one target. Hit: 6 (1d4 + 4) slashing damage. Ro may spend up to 3 chakra when he takes this action, making one additional attack per chakra point spent. Each additional kunai deals 3 (1d4 + 1) slashing damage on a hit. Ro may spend 2 additional chakra to allow him to spend any number of chakra points on these additional attacks, but may only make 1 attack against each creature within range.

Basic Taijutsu Technique (3 Chakra). As a bonus action, Ro makes two unarmed strikes

Leaf Gust (8 Chakra). Ro makes an unarmed strike against every creature within 5 feet.

Shadow of the Dancing Leaf (3 Chakra). As a bonus action, Ro gains the ability to move across any liquid surface— such as water, acid, mud, snow, quicksand, or lava— as if it were harmless solid ground (creatures crossing molten lava can still take damage from the heat) for 1 minute. If Ro casts this Jutsu while submerged in a liquid, the Jutsu carries them to the surface of the liquid at a rate of 60 feet per round. Additionally, his movement speed increases by half its total (rounded down), and attacks of opportunity against him have disadvantage.

Heavenly Foot of Pain (12 Chakra). One creature within 5 feet and every creature except Ro within 5 feet of them must attempt a DC 18 Strength saving throw. On a failure, the original target takes 13 (3d4 + 5) magical bludgeoning damage, creatures within the radius take half as much damage, and all creatures fall prone. On a success, a creature takes half as much damage as they would have taken had they failed.

Chakra Suppression (0+ Chakra). For 1 minute (concentration), Ro can not be sensed by chakra sense, but he can not cast jutsu. Ro may end this jutsu early as an action. When Ro casts this jutsu, he may spend 3 additional chakra to target one additional willing creature he can touch with this jutsu.

Transparent Escape (6 Chakra). Ro becomes invisible until the end of his next turn.

Body Elimination (5 Chakra). One creature Ro can touch that has 1 or fewer hit points is killed instantly. After 24 seconds (4 rounds), the body is completely reduced to ash.

REACTIONS

Substitution (3+ Chakra). When the genin is hit by an attack and would take damage, they decrease the damage by 18 (1d10 + 13) and teleport up to 15 ft. in any direction to an unoccupied space, during which they take the Hide action. A generic object is left in their place and they take any remaining damage from that attack. The genin can add reduce this damage by an additional 5 (1d10) points per chakra point spent over the initial cost.

As a genin of the Leaf Village, Ro was forced to fight in the Third Shinobi World War, where his unit was ambushed. Being the only survivor, he suppressed his chakra, hiding beneath his friends' bodies until the enemies passed. Despite his large, non-stealthy nature, his mastery of chakra suppression from this event gave him an edge in infiltration, allowing him to join the Leaf Village's Anbu. When Kakashi organized a squad to track down Sai and assassinate Gengo, Ro and Hinoko were put under the command of Shikamaru. During the mission, Ro was captured by Gengo's cult, tortured, and put under Gengo's genjutsu until Temari and her squad rescued him, allowing him to suppress Shikamaru's chakra during his fight with Gengo, allowing him to get the drop on the cult leader and ultimately leading to the completion of their mission.

Years later, when Shikamaru was advisor to the Seventh Hokage, Hinoko and Ro were ordered to infiltrate the Hidden Stone Village under suspicion of the Fourth Tsuchikage's recent aggressive actions. There, they discovered that the Land of Earth's daimyo wished to invade the Land of Flowers, an act of war forbidden by the Shinobi Union. By acting aggressively, Kurotsuchi had wished to sew distrust between the Stone Village and the other hidden villages, thus giving them an excuse to leave the union and fulfill her orders. The intel gathered by Hinoko and Ro was monumental in preventing the war, and arguably prevented the total dissolution of the Union.
