Female Newman

Newmans are the result of an attempt to create a superior species of human.

Appearance: Although their physical abilities are undeveloped, they excel in their psi energies, and they are masters of psi techniques. They have a smaller frame than humans, and are ill-suited for close combat. Newmans have a charming appearance, with long tapered ears.

Newman Traits
Ability: Wisdom
Power Source: Psi; +2 to Psi overcharge.
Skill Bonus (Level 1): Gain a +4 bonus to Insight checks.
Engineered Mind (Level 1): Gain a +2 bonus to Will.
Technique Recovery (Level 1): When you take your second wind, you regain the use of one expended Technique.
Newman Critical (Level 2 or 6): When you score a critical hit, you deal an additional 1d10 damage and you may shift 2 squares.

Foie Newman Novice
All newmans are adept with this basic fire Technique, which sends a ball of flame hurtling towards a foe. The target continues to burn if they ignore this threat.

Standard Action Ranged 10
Target: One creature
Attack: Wisdom + your level vs. Reflex
Hit: 1d8 + Wisdom modifier + twice your level thermal damage. If the target makes an attack during its next turn, it takes an additional 1d8 thermal damage.

Telepathy Psi Utility
You make a mental link with another living creature.
Encounter Star.gif Psi
Minor Action Close burst 10
Target: One beast or humanoid in the burst.
Effect: You can communicate telepathically with the target until the end of your next turn. Whilst you are telepathically linked, you gain a +2 power bonus to Insight rolls against the target; You gain a +2 power bonus to defense against attacks made by the target against you; You share your line of sights (but not line of effects).

Illusion Newman Expert
You cloud the mind of your foe with dozens of images of yourself. It flails hopelessly at the phantasms.

Standard Action Ranged 10
Target: One creature
Attack: Wisdom + your level vs. Will
Hit: 2d6 + Wisdom modifier + twice your level psychic damage. In addition the target takes a -6 penalty to attack rolls. Each time the target misses with an attack, the penalty is reduced by 2: the target no longer takes a penalty after it misses with three attacks.
