Explosive Vulnerability. If the molduga takes thunder damage from a bomb flower or other explosive it falls prone.

Soft Belly. The molduga's belly is unarmored and attacks to the belly bypass molduga's damage resistance, the belly is only exposed to attacks on the surface when molduga is prone.

ACTIONS

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 5 ft., one target. Hit: 52 (8d12 + 7) piercing damage. If the target is Large or smaller, it is grappled (escape DC 17). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the molduga can't bite another target.

Slam. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 51 (8d10 + 7) bludgeoning damage. If the target is a creature, it must succeed on a DC 20 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone.

Swallow. The molduga makes one bite attack against a Large or smaller target it is grappling. If the attack hits, the target is also swallowed, and the grapple ends. While swallowed, the target is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the molduga, and it takes 28 (8d6) acid damage at the start of each of the molduga's turns. A molduga can have only one creature swallowed at a time.
If the molduga takes 30 damage or more on a single turn from the swallowed creature, the molduga must succeed on a DC 21 Constitution saving throw at the end of that turn or regurgitate the creature, which falls prone in a space within 10 feet of the molduga. If the molduga dies, a swallowed creature is no longer restrained by it and can escape from the corpse by using 20 feet of movement, exiting prone.

This massive monster swims beneath the desert's sand. It spends most of its time submerged, but if it senses sound, it will breach the surface to feast on whatever it can grab. Running around carelessly can be dangerous if you suspect there may be one in the area.
