Masterwork Katana

Martial Melee Weapons
Weapon Cost Damage Weight Properties
Masterwork Katana 150 gp 1d8 slashing 3 lb. Versatile (1d10), Special

A katana of especially masterful craftsmanship, honed to an impeccably sharp edge.

Brittle. Due to being made from iron gravel native to island nations of the Far East — a notably poor quality of iron — a masterwork katana's steel must be folded over itself many hundreds of times to achieve a usable hardness.
As such, it is incredibly fragile: Whenever you strike something with a masterwork katana, roll a d20. On a 10 or lower, the katana shatters and becomes unusable.
