Weapon (armblade [scimitar]), rare (basic), very rare (electrifying, thermal or toxic) (requires attunement by a warforged or equivalent)

Developed by the Arasaka Corporation, this arm blades were designed with lethality and concealment in mind. The mantis blade is an Armblade (Eberron: Rising from the Last War, page 276). The concealed blade is curved and has the statistics of a scimitar.

There are also Very Rare variants of this blade, with elemental effects, as described below.

Bleeding Strikes. When you roll a 20 on an attack roll from this weapon, your target starts to bleed. A bleeding target loses 1d6 hit points at the start of each of its turns. Any creature can take an action to stanch the wound with a successful DC 13 Wisdom (Medicine) check. The wound also closes if the target receives magical healing.

Mantis Leap. As a Bonus Action, you can leap towards a target, covering up to 15 feet in a straight line with this jump (doesn't count against your maximum speed). If you make an attack immediately after this leap, you cause additional 2d6 slashing damage.

Electrifying, Thermal or Toxic variants. These variants have the same properties of the regular one, and cause additional 1d6 damage from their type.

In addition, on a 20 on the attack roll, the target takes additional 7 damage from that type and suffer an additional effect from the shown below:

  • Electrifying: The additional damage type is lightning. In addition, on a 20 on the attack roll the target can't take reactions until the end of your next turn.
  • Thermal: The additional damage type is fire. In addition, on a 20 on the attack roll the target have Disadvantage on Constitution checks and saves until the end of your next turn.
  • Toxic: The additional damage type is poison. In addition, on a 20 on the attack roll the target is poisoned until the end of your next turn.
