Weapon (javelin), legendary

Once a humble javelin of lightning, the storm god Keranos of Theros overpowered this bronze poker in a mania of inspiration. After his bout of inventiveness passed, he decided to test its product by throwing the empowered stick as far as he could. He got distracted by another bright idea while searching for it, and thus the javelin of too much lightning was lost to the multiverse.
This javelin is a magic weapon. When you hurl it and speak its command word (Kataigida), it transforms into a bolt of lightning, forming a line 5 feet wide that extends out from you to a target within 300 feet. Each creature in the line excluding you and the target must make a DC 21 Dexterity saving throw, taking 8d12 lightning damage on a failed save, and half as much damage on a successful one. Any creature that rolls a 1 against and fails this saving throw is paralyzed until the start of your next turn. The lightning bolt turns back into a javelin when it reaches the target. Make a ranged weapon attack against the target. On a hit, the target takes damage from the javelin plus 7d12 lightning damage. If you roll a 20 on the attack roll, you deal an additional 4d12 lightning damage and the creature is paralyzed until the start of your next turn.
The javelin's property can't be used again until the next dawn. In the meantime, the javelin can still be used as a magic weapon and deals 1d12 additional lightning damage on a hit.
