Discussion:What about Dragon Shaman? (3.5e)

[edit]

I am new to DnD and I have been having a rough time getting the grasp of my role. I tried to be a healer but I just couldn't connect with my character. Ultimately my healer died and I re-rolled a dragon shaman. I was really excited about the character at first. I want to play her as a roguish damage dealer. But I feel I am not doing something right. I really could use some advice but I haven't seen anything reguarding dragon shaman. Heck! dragon shaman isn't even listed under the classes on wiki. Can someone help me out?

First the dragon shaman is not SRD, system reference document, material so it is illegal to post it here on the wiki. As for playing a dragon shaman stealthy, I don't know if that is your best choice as they don't get sneak based skills or any sneak attack type damage, but I do have a solution. I am creating a class called the Dragon Shade that is a rogue/assassin class that revolves around dragons. It should be completed soon and I will try to get it on the wiki ASAP.

I recently uploaded a guide I wrote up a while ago on roles in D&D, might help you find some direction with where you want to go and how you want to go about it.

I found it best to stack CHA to increase the vitality pool therefore making a great utility healer. Dragon Shamans would be better for tanking. Especially if you can convince the DM to let you take other weapon/armor proficiency (mine uses a great sword and wears plate; worth the feats spent). I'm up to level 30 now started at 8th the 20+ build was custom to my DM as he thought the build on here was OP. But my vitality pool is almost 600 at this point.
