Is there an alternative class feature for a Paladin to not gain a mount?[edit]

I kinda want to make a pally, but I can't really use a mount for this campaign. Is there something I can take to get something in return? Rogue The Demonchild 23:47, 18 January 2011 (MST)

Well, [[Paladin,_Sulacu_Variant_(3.5e_Class)|Sulacu's paladin variant]] doesn't have a mount. That's homebrew, so keep that in mind (some DMs don't like stuff that doesn't come from a book). Beyond that, you have the squire alternate class feature (which is also homebrew). From the same guy that wrote squire you can get Zeal, which replaces other things too, and can replace the mount as an option, to give you some rage-like abilities. Otherwise you have [[Meteor_Dash_(3.5e_Alternate_Class_Feature)|Meteor Dash]] which can replace the mount for some movement bonus that deals damage as well as provides AC bonuses. These are all homebrew variants, so that should be kept in mind. Having never played a paladin in a campaign, I'm not too familiar with variants that come from sourcebooks, but you may want to check Book of Exalted Deeds, Complete Divine, Complete Warrior, and any of a dozen others that just aren't springing to mind right now.

Thank you. I don't blame you for not playing a paladin; they kinda suck in 3rd edition. I just figured I want to try one out. And I think Meteor Dash is probably the best choice for this, thank you for your help. Rogue The Demonchild 14:07, 19 January 2011 (MST)
