Armor (shield), Very Rare (Requires Attunement) Blizzard is a magical shield made of pure ice, with a beautiful snowflake design in the center. It was created alongside Frostbite by a powerful wizard who wished to harness the power of the icy tundra to defeat their enemies. The last wielder of this shield was Aria Snowfall, a Human Paladin. Her improvement on the shield was that it will always emit a cold aura, making its surroundings feel like winter. You gain a +3 bonus to AC while wielding this shield. All magical structures and spells that provide protection against cold damage are nullified as it passes through it.
Curse of The Frozen Heart.Attacks made with this weapon deal an additional 2d10 cold damage that ignores immunity and resistances. The wielder takes 4d8 cold damage each turn the weapon is wielded, causing the blood in their veins to slow down and eventually freeze. Chilling Effect.If a creature is hit with the blade, the creature takes 2d12 cold damage that ignores immunity and resistances for 1d6 minutes. Blessing of Last Wielder.You gain half of the ability scores of the last Wielders of the shield. Sentience.Blizzard is a sentient chaotic good shield with the Intelligence of 18, a Wisdom of 20, and a Charisma of 20. It has hearing and blindsight of 120ft. The shield communicates telepathically with its wielder and can speak, read, and understand all languages. It has a calm and wise voice. The shield can sense the presence of evil and neutral creatures within 120 feet of it. Personality.Blizzard has sworn to protect its wielder and their allies against any threat. The shield's ideal wielder is a person who values justice and righteousness. In essence, someone who is lawful good or chaotic good. Blizzard is patient and calculating. If someone wishes to use Blizzard against their will, it will create a blizzard to slow them down and hinder their movement. If it wished to remain hidden, it will create a wall of ice and blend in with the surroundings. Blizzard is married to the greatsword Frostbite, and they are known as the Winter's Guardians |
