Blade of the Forgemaster (5e Equipment)
Weapon (any sword), very rare (requires attunement)
Forged from masterfully tempered steel and humming with arcane hunger, this longsword thirsts for the enchantments of other weapons. Its edge glows faintly when near magic, and its balance is unnaturally perfect in the hands of its wielder. You gain a +3 bonus to attack and damage rolls made with this magic weapon. Arcane Assimilation. The blade can absorb and replicate the enchantments of other magic weapons. As an action, you can merge a magical melee weapon of at least uncommon rarity into the blade of the forgemaster, destroying the other weapon. The blade of the forgemaster then gains one special property of the destroyed weapon (chosen by the DM). This can include: Passive bonuses (e.g., frost brand's cold damage and fire resistance) Activated abilities (e.g., sun blade's radiant light) The blade can only hold one absorbed property at a time. To replace it, you must merge another magical weapon, overwriting the previous ability.
flame tongue's Wrath: Deals an extra 2d6 fire damage on a hit. defender's Ward: Grants a +1 to +3 bonus to AC (replacing the original +3 if applicable). sword of life stealing: When you attack a creature with this magic weapon and roll a 20 on the attack roll, that target takes an extra 3d6 necrotic damage, provided that the target isn't a construct or an undead. You gain temporary hit points equal to the extra damage dealt. dancing sword: Can be thrown and recalled as a bonus action. |
