Weapon (Longsword), Rare (requires attunement)

This chainsaw, handcrafted with immense care, has a handle attached to the base that stretches nearly half a foot into its four-foot blade. A small lever on the handle enables the chainsaw to activate, and different hand movements trigger different abilities.

The chainsaw has a number of charges equal to its wielder's character level. You can use the charges to fuel special abilities for the chainsaw. The chainsaw's charges recharge each dawn.

The chainsaw's DC is calculated as 8 + your strength or Dexterity modifier + your proficiency bonus:

Armor Break Immediately before you make an attack roll with the chainsaw, you may expend one of its charges to attempt to partially break any armor it hits. If the attack hits, it deals damage as normal and reduces the target's AC by an amount equal to your proficiency bonus.

Chain Break This ability unlocks if the wielder is at 5th level, otherwise, they can't use it. After you use the armor break or splinter feature, you may immediately expend another charge to make an attack against another creature within 5 feet of you. If that attack hits, it deals no damage but reduces the target's AC as normal. You may do this as many times as you like, spending one more charge and targeting a different creature ever time

Splinter This ability unlocks if the wielder is at 11th level, otherwise, they can't use it. Immediately before you make an attack roll with the chainsaw you may expend three charges to splinter an enemy's armor and hurt its allies. This attack automatically hits that target and creatures of your choice within 10 feet of the target must make a Dexterity saving throw or take 1d6 slashing damage.

ULtimate break This ability unlocks if the wielder is at 16th level, otherwise, they can't use it. Immediately before you make an attack roll with the chainsaw you may expend 10 charges to automatically hit the target and reduce their AC by an amount equal to your level.

Proficiency with a longsword allows you to add your proficiency bonus to the attack roll for any attack you make with it.
