Zoltan are humanoids with elemental bodies. Their entire being is wreathed in a coat of strong electric force, giving them the appearance of being made of lightning. The color of this energy can vary in color from zoltan to zoltan, though it is always a neon color. Their facial appearances can sometimes be invisible due to the harsh ion light emitted. Their eyes are featureless, appearing blank. Arcs of electricity spark off their bodies in different intensities depending on their mood. While they are in a resting state, their lightning emissions are merely low sparks that give the feeling of a zap after running your feet in socks across a carpet. However, when enraged or within the heat of battle, zoltan resemble living storms, with powerful zapping potential flying everywhere.

As part of their biology, experienced zoltan can manifest their own lightning into bolts that they can hurl like a certain Greek god. Because their bodies are so electrifying and they like it that way, zoltan usually never wear clothes. However, this can be a bit inconvenient when trying to remain inconspicuous or aiming not to scare people. The appearance of zoltan are sometimes seen as heralding destruction, which makes people wary around them.

History[edit]

Zoltan claim ancestry from two sources. One is storm elemental magic that they believe eventually consumed several spellcasters who dabbled too far into it, thus turning them into the first zoltan. The other origin is supposedly from storm giants, though it is unclear how this origin came to be. Supposedly, the blood of storm giants was once a coveted ingredient in some potions and cures, even prescribed for baths. Its use came with a horrible blood curse that transformed some of the user's progeny into zoltan. Upon being born this way, zoltan are known to kill the mother in childbirth due to its volatile ionic state.

Attitudes and Beliefs[edit]

Zoltan are a rarity of a race. Most of them are raised as inhuman weapons due to their potential for both danger and power. Despite this sort of typical upbringing, zoltan are hardly prone towards violence. Like a storm building, they tend to favor diplomacy while possible before acts of aggression. However, when push comes to shove, they are explosively furious and nigh impossible to calm down until they have defeated any who stand in their way. Whilst calm, they are deeply officious and obtuse, often being rather stubborn when it comes to what they see as territorial matters and such. However, this comes from a belief in the rigidity of life, making them very fair across the board in regards to how they deal with others. The one area where they seem to be loose is in technology, where they are highly enthusiastic about new innovations and unorthodox developments.
