Zif[edit]

Chaotic Good

Domains: Commerce, Life, Trickery

History[edit]

Zif, during his mortal life, was an elf known as Jharak Kolvar. Jharak Kolvar was a devout follower of deity Cyric, the Prince of Lies. Jharak Kolvar was hated by the rich and loved by poor. He would praise Cyric and steal things, then fence them off to thieves, returning to give most of the profits away to people who needed money. However, Jharak Kolvar was a master thief, so no one ever could link him to any of the thefts. The guards of his home town of Luskan in the Forgotten Realms eventually caved to the demands of the merchants and ship captains and imprisoned him under false charges. During his imprisonment, a radiant beam of light was cast upon him from Waukeen, the goddess of commerce. She told him "For helping those in need of coin and increasing the commerce in Luskan, I grant you my favor." She then freed him from his bonds and Jharak escaped to the only place he knew no one would be able to get him, the chapel of Luskan. Jharak spent years there, worshiping Waukeen. In Jharak's later years, he became the Chosen of Waukeen, Championing her cause and creating what is now one of the most powerful guild of thieves in Faerun.

Power[edit]

While Zif does not have much in the name of godly power, he is well respected for his actions by the deities of good alignments.

Aspects[edit]

Many people have claimed to see Zif in many different forms. Most commonly seen as a baby fox.

True God Form[edit]

In Zif's True God Form, he appears as he did in his mortal life, with many powerful enchanted weapons. An pale skinned elf of approximately 6' 1", donning black leather armor and wielding three different enchanted weapons. The Coinpurse Cutter (his dagger), the Rapier of the Shadows (his rapier), and the Bow of Pure Radiance (his bow).

Dogma[edit]

1 Evaluate your surroundings. For every item you see can cast a shadow and every item has a value.

2 Be wary of your surroundings, for they can make sounds. And be wary of torches and magics that conjure light.

3 Never steal just to line your pockets. Help the poor around you so they may eat and live.

Spells[edit]

From your training along with your years of servitude to Zif, you can use the 2nd level wizard spell darkness once per day.

Quests[edit]

Zif always asks his followers to steal or make money by whatever means they please, besides violent means, in order to help out the poor.

Prayers[edit]

Zif asks his followers to pray to him similarly to having a conversation with another mortal, since he was mortal once as well.

Temples[edit]

Zif has many temples scattered across the Forgotten Realms, most of them small temples. However, he has a large temple in the city of Crimmor in Amn, Baldur's Gate, Luskan, and Waterdeep. Though the largest of his temples is located in Luskan, the "Holy City" of Zif worship.
