Wispy Willow (5e Race)

From D&D Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search
Scales.png This page is of questionable balance. Reason: The scaling of this race into levels over 5 is too much. Consider going the composite class route like with the Vulpes Flos (5e Race). Or maybe a scaling feat that you can take repeatedly to get higher effect increases. Hover speed at 40 feet is also very strong since hover is actually flying speed but better because you don't need to keep moving to stay afloat. Life accessory is really punishing and could probably do more like a warlock's pact weapon or even a hexblood's token to give it some leeway and not false balance.

Wispy Willows[edit]

A Wispy Willow Female, drawn by frostboi27

“As I walked Through The Dark, dense forest, I realized I was Lost. As I walked, I then saw a faint green glow in the darkness. I then Saw Her, A lady, But she looked like a tree, and was floating, with planty features adorning her, With a green glow coming from her chest, as she looked like an angel who Was Undead. She turned around, and saw that I was there, Becoming startled. She and I had One moment of connection, as I looked into her pitch-black eyes with a faint white Pupil. As quickly as she appeared, she vanished in thin air. As the air was still agein, And the darkness filled back in, I stood there for a few small moments, Then said to myself, 'I Just Saw a Wispy Willow'.”

Physical Description[edit]

The Wispy Willows are life elemental's who have a appearance of a tree. Their bodies are covered in moss, branches, flowers, vines, leafs, etc. their skin is made of bark, and takes the form of a tree type, birch, oak, willow, Ginkgo, Magnolia, etc.they have holes and cracks revealing the inside wood, and has a green glow, emanating from their life core, located in their chests. they are undead spirits who hover above the the ground, and has died inside a forest.

History[edit]

The Wispy Willows are eternal, and cannot die of old age. the oldest is 254,053 years old, and counting. when a lost soul dies within a haunted forest, their bodies reincarnate and turn into a Wispy Willow. They live in communities of 4 to 5, or venture alone. as they die, their body keeps its shape, but changes to appear "wooden". there is no real history of the Wispy Willows, but they have been on the planet since the dawn of time. what burdens the wispy willows is their accessory they wear. this accessory contains their souls, if this accessory is to not be touching the Wispy Willow, their bodies go limp, their green glow from their cores go dark, and they technically die, entel there accessory is returned to them. Some Wispy Willows are born from a god, and then grows up.

Society[edit]

The Wispy Willows Don't have Major Towns, But small caves filled with 4 to 5 Wispy Willows. They Love Nature, and stay there away from society. The group Of Wispy Willows Usually stick together, as they may be dead, but they still have love interests. They cannot "breed", nor reproduce in any way. They Rarely Are seen, as They LIve In the Deepest Parts Of the Forest. If One wants to play as a Wispy Willow, they need to make a good reason why their character came out of the woods and joined a party.
