Regeneration. The strigoi regains 10 hit points at the start of its turn if it has at least 1 hit point and isn't in sunlight or running water. If the strigoi takes radiant damage or damage from holy water, this trait doesn't function at the start of the strigoi's next turn.

Spider Climb. The strigoi can climb difficult surfaces, including upside down on ceilings, without needing to make an ability check.

Strigoi Weaknesses. The strigoi has the following flaws:
Forbiddance. The strigoi can't enter a residence without an invitation from one of the occupants.
Harmed by Running Water. The strigoi takes 20 acid damage when it ends its turn in running water.
Stake to the Heart. The strigoi is destroyed if a piercing weapon made of wood is driven into its heart while it is incapacitated in its resting place.
Sunlight Hypersensitivity. The strigoi takes 20 radiant damage when it starts its turn in sunlight. While in sunlight, it has disadvantage on attack rolls and ability checks.

Innate Spellcasting. The strigoi's innate spellcasting ability is Wisdom (spell save DC 14). The strigoi can innately cast the following spells, requiring no material components:

At will: invisibility, mirror image, see invisibility
1/day each: charm person, gaseous form, sleep

ACTIONS

Multiattack. The strigoi makes three attacks, only one of which can be a bite attack.

Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one willing creature, or a creature that is grappled by the strigoi, incapacitated, or restrained. Hit: 9 (1d10 + 4) piercing damage plus 10 (3d6) necrotic damage. The target's hit point maximum is reduced by an amount equal to the necrotic damage taken, and the strigoi regains hit points equal to that amount. The reduction lasts until the target finishes a long rest. The target dies if this effect reduces its hit point maximum to 0.

Claws. Melee Weapon Attack: +7 to hit, reach 5 ft., one creature. Hit: 9 (2d4 + 4) slashing damage. Instead of dealing damage, the strigoi can grapple the target (escape DC 15).

The winged strigoi is an atavistic degeneration of the vampire spawn which plague the catacombs and sewers of Ravenna, where they lurk during the day, eagerly awaiting nightfall when they flutter from flying buttresses in cathedrals and among chimneys from the manors. They search the city streets for outcasts and the homeless to swoop down and grab their prey, screaming into the mist-covered night skies. Weeks later desiccated corpses can be found floating along the bay of Nikea or in the mountains of pyroporrum beyond the great walls.
