Skills Athletics +9, Perception +15, Stealth +18 Avoidance. If the veil lizard is subjected to an effect that allows it to make a saving throw to take only half damage, it instead takes no damage if it succeeds on the saving throw, and only half damage if it fails. Regeneration. The veil lizard regains 25 hit points at the start of its turn if it has at least 1 hit point. ACTIONSMultiattack. The veil lizard makes three attacks: one with its bite, one with its claws and one with its tongue. Bite. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d8 + 6) piercing damage. Claw. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 10 ft., one target. Hit: 17 (2d10 + 6) slashing damage. Tongue. Melee Weapon Attack: +12 to hit, reach 15 ft., one target. Hit: 15 (2d8 + 6) bludgeoning damage and 9 (2d8) poison damage and the target is grappled (escape DC 21). Until this grapple ends, the target is restrained, and the veil lizard can't use its tongue on another target. Swallow. The veil lizard makes a bite attack against a Medium or smaller target it is grappling. If the attack hits, the target is swallowed, and the grapple ends. The swallowed target is blinded and restrained, it has total cover against attacks and other effects outside the veil lizard, and it takes 14 (4d6) acid damage at the start of each of the veil lizard's turns. The veil lizard can have only one target swallowed at a time. BONUS ACTIONSNimble Escape. The veil lizard takes the Disengage or Hide action. Superior Invisibility. The veil lizard magically turns invisible until its concentration ends (as if concentrating on a spell). Any equipment the veil lizard wears or carries is invisible with it.
