Welcome to D&D Wiki![edit]

Welcome!

Hello Djmclaughlinjr, and welcome to D&D Wiki. I hope you have been enjoying this site, and I hope you have been finding the information here on D&D Wiki useful. I am an admin (and, actually, the owner as well) here on D&D Wiki along with a couple other people who make up "The Face" of D&D Wiki. Everything relating to admins can be found here.

Questions

If you have any question about D&D Wiki, D&D, formatting on D&D Wiki, what day today is, or whatever, an admin will, many times, give a good answer. Please feel free to ask any admin any question (ask me a question!).

Formatting

Formatting on D&D Wiki (or any wiki for that matter) can be very difficult, and if you need help a good place to start is Help:Editing on Wikipedia (or even their Introduction page). This will explain the basic wiki formatting and should provide quite a few useful links that explain more specific areas of wiki formatting. Again, if you have any questions about formatting on D&D Wiki please ask them as, I imagine, anybody will be more than happy to help you get them answered.

Community

A strong and welcoming community exists on D&D Wiki, and I am sure you will find it rather nice. Most discussions take place on content talk pages, however please feel free to walk into The Tavern (our local chat room) and talk to some fellow D&D Wikians. Anyway, on D&D Wiki, possibly since discussions are never deleted, people try to be nice. This means please follow Wikipedia's guidelines on Civility and Etiquette when discussing anything. Also, on a pretty different note, to ensure people know who posted what, please sign your name after a post with four tildes (~~~~) or by clicking on the signature icon. Signature icon.png This will automatically produce your name and the date. Anyway, I hope you come to love the close-knit D&D Wiki community and welcome again, you are now a D&D Wikian. --Green Dragon 20:39, 27 October 2009 (MDT)

Article Naming[edit]

Hello DJ. I don't know if you've had a chance to read it yet, but through the Help:Portal you can find Help:Article Naming. The part I'd like you to take a look at is Adding the article identifier. You see, because of the massive amount of articles here and the different things they represent (i.e. feats, classes, races, equipment, etc.) we add identifiers onto each article. So, instead of you making, say, Power Dash Boots, you should instead be making Power Dash Boots (3.5e Equipment). If you could, could you please go through your recent creations and move the articles to their appropriate identifier. If you are confused, just ask for clarification but make sure to read that link I posted to that help page.   Hooper   talk    contribs    email   23:14, 21 February 2010 (UTC)

Took a look and it helps out a good deal. Tried to move it but something is up either with the server or what not. Taking to long to load or I get a error report. Thanks for the help, will be moving everything into the their right spots. Also would armor and weapons fall under equipment as well, so do i add a sub or use either equipment or armor/weapon? Another question to tack on, would it matter where I put the (3.5e ....), because once you get to the page it will state it's 3.5 edition. Or should I put it in both sides so its just easier to tell apart?

I'm experiencing some post-crash move issues with some pages as well, so that must be system wide. I'll notify an admin and try to get it fixed. Armor and weapons are equipment, yes, so just use the Equipment identifier. If ever in doubt you can use the navigation to locate another weapon or similar item to the article you are making and see what its identifier is. It does matter that the edition be on it, so it must read like so : Article Name (Edition Classification), and an example is Sword (3.5e Equipment). Additionally, you only sign talk pages, not the main page - sorry for any confusion.   Hooper   talk    contribs    email   14:17, 22 February 2010 (UTC)

Hero Class[edit]

If you have any suggestion I'd like to make the hero class better. I might even try the class in a game to see how well it fairs. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Djmclaughlinjr (talkcontribs) 13:16, 26 October 2009 (MDT). Please sign your posts.
