Tin. Common trade good (metal), 1 gp per kilogram. Tin is a silvery metal with a slightly yellow hue. Unlike most renowned metals, tin can be easily cut or even bent by hand. It is less abundant in earth than iron and even copper. Tin is outshined in most regards by other metals so it is widely considered to have a low value despite its middling rarity.
In ancient times tin was highly valuable for its use in bronze, but in most places the applications of bronze have been replaced with more readily available iron and steel. The main use for tin these days is in pewter, an inexpensive silvery alloy consisting mostly of tin. Pewter is used in making inexpensive but reasonably durable tableware, jewelry, and other items.
Tin doesn't keep its shape as well as more renowned metals, so it usually isn't shaped into ingots or bars for sale. Tin generally is worth 1 gp per kilogram.
