Undersized, Variant (5e Variant Rule)

From D&D Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

This is polar opposite of Oversized (5e Variant Rule) - making weapons smaller for small or tiny races.

Alterations to weapon are such:

  • Light. If the original weapon is not Heavy and not Two-Handed, it becomes Light. Medium and bigger creature always treats it as Light.
  • Finesse. If the original weapon is not Heavy and not Two-Handed, it becomes Finesse. Medium and bigger creature always treats it as Finesse.
  • Versatile. The weapon is considered to be a one-handed weapon with Versatile's maximum damage.
  • Heavy. That quality is removed.
  • Thrown. Works as normal.
  • Two-handed. That quality is removed.
  • Weight and cost. Divide the weight and cost of the weapon, and of any ammunition it uses, by 4.
  • Damage. An undersized weapon deals one-step smaller damage than its normal counterpart.

2d8 → 1d12 → 1d10 → 1d8 → 1d6 → 1d4 → 1d3 → 1d2 → 1

2d8 → 2d6 → 2d4
