Tyranitar are large, bipedal, dinosaurian Pokémon with a green, armor-like hide covering their body. They have two pairs of pointed teeth: one in the upper jaw and one in the lower. Several spikes of varying sizes protrude from the back of their head, neck, and shoulders. Both sides of their chest, the center of their back, and their knees have two triangular holes. There is a gray, diamond-shaped patch of scales covering their belly and a smaller one on their back. They has three claws on its feet and hands. A ring of spikes surrounds the tip of their tail.

Some Tyrtanitar are known to have strange coloration, as some have a purple belly instead of a grey one and their green-armored body being more of a yellowish color.

History[edit]

Tyranitar were first discovered in the Johto region, specifically in the caves of Mt. Silver along with their Larvitar young. Larvitar look like tiny Tyranitar, but lack the protrusions along the back of the head, neck and back. They are born deep underground, and do not even see the face of their parents until it makes its way to the surface by consuming the soil around it. After they have consumed enough soil to make a large mountain, they go to sleep and forms a cocoon as hard as bedrock around themselves becoming a Pupitar.

Despite being in a cocoon, Pupitar can still move around. They will even release compressed gases they creates and stores inside themselves to send themselves rocketing off. Their bodies are so hard that even if they hit solid steel they will take no damage. They eagerly await the day they will evolve, and when they aren't rocketing around they're thrashing about. Their thrashing is said to be so intense that they can topple mountains.

When Tyranitar finally emerges from its Pupitar shell, they search the mountains endlessly for opponents to fight. They care little for others, but if they finds an opponent they regards as weak or otherwise not worth their effort they ignore it. In the Galar region, they have a fierce rivalry with a pokemon known as Duraludon. Such is the destructive power of these pokemon that it is said that they crumble mountain and bury rivers, resulting in maps being redrawn, although sometimes Sableye will follow in their wake consuming gems exposed thanks to their rampaging. They are sometimes known as the Dread Mountain or Dark mountain, but they're more commonly known as Destroyer Kings.

Society[edit]

Tyranitar do not have much of a society to speak of. They typically only interact with each other to fight or seek out a mate, and they likewise hardly interact with other races outside of when they're looking for a fight.

Tyranitar Names[edit]

Tyranitar typically have Terran names.
