Greater Hero Deity[edit]

There's no such thing as a "Greater Hero Deity." The SRD defines the different deity types: Hero Deities/quasi-deities (rank 0), demigods (ranks 1–5), lesser deities (ranks 6–10), intermediate deities (ranks 11–15), greater deities (ranks 16–20), and overdeities (ranks 21+). —Sledged (talk) 21:15, 6 May 2007 (MDT)

I know. The reason I put it their was a appease the makers of Lord Gomegron (DnD Deity) and Steelo X (DnD Deity) because they both put that. If you look through the history you see that I changed it to Hero and then the maker changed it back to Greater Hero Deity... I thought "hell to it" and made the ghd thing so the maker would not, once again, add it to the bottom of the page... So, should these two deities just be Hero then and if the makers once again try to change it back just keep reverting their changes? --Green Dragon 21:20, 6 May 2007 (MDT)
I changed them to greater deities. I'll put comments in the talk pages. Deities should fall into the categories set by the SRD. If they don't there should be some sort of alternative deity system on which their status is based, and note that says as much. —Sledged (talk) 21:38, 6 May 2007 (MDT)
Thanks for doing that, and yes, I agree as well. --Green Dragon 21:40, 6 May 2007 (MDT)

Additions to the template[edit]

I've added arch devil and demon prince to the list of deity types and worshipers to the list of descriptors, but they don't show up when I try to make a new deity. Can you help me fix this? —ShadowPriest (talk)

Regarding "{{{dom}}} }}"[edit]

It may seem like a bunch of extra brackets, but don't edit it. It'll break the portfolio section of the template. --Jwguy (talk) 08:41, 7 January 2016 (MST)

Additions to the template - v2[edit]

I was wondering if a worshipers tag could be added to the template. I would like to have said section for my deities, but I don't know how to make a template. I do know that it would look something like this:

{{3.5e Deity v2</nowiki>
|hdligo=
|sym=
|plane=
|align=
|port=
|worsh=
|calign=
|dom=
|favweap=
}}

I would ask that you please consider adding the Demon Lord and Archdevil classifications to the template and sections to the Homebrew deities page. They should have their own classification and section because they do not fit in any other section. Both the Book of Vile Darkness and the Fiendish Codex (1 & 2) state that like Hero, or Quasi, deities, Demon Lords/Archdevils are not true deities and thus, cannot be labeled as demigods. But, they are not quasi deities either. What separates them from quasi deities, is that they have the ability to grant divine Domain Powers to their worshipers, making them more powerful than quasi deities but weaker than demigods. They have their own label because they need one, otherwise they would have been labeled as gods who live in the Abyss or the Nine Hells, rather than demon lords and archdevils. To further my point, the Libris Mortis and Serpent Kingdoms has Orcus, the Demon Lord of Undeath, and Sess'innek, the Demon lord of Serpents, listed in the deity sections of their respective books as Demon Lords, not a demigods or a quasi deities. Given this information, I seriously hope you consider the addition of the Demon Lord/Archdevil classificationsections and sections. Please & thank you for your time.

Is it okay if we first test it out on 3.5e Rules to see how many deities get added to these sections? If there is enough then adding a link here to them would make lots of sense of course. Do you know how to make it work with 3.5e Rules? --Green Dragon (talk) 13:54, 20 January 2016 (MST)
They would work similarly to quasi deities. However an Archdevil or Demon Lord would have domains that they can grant, but not use themselves without obtaining cleric levels. When making their stat blocks, they would have a divine rank of zero and recive the quasi deity immunities, however they would have no divine abilities. Also, how would people post new Archdevils and Demon Lords if there is no link? And what have you decided regarding the worshipers section that I requested for the deity entries?
