Thoughts on (in)balance[edit]

The idea of hitting your enemy without a roll at 17th level, when expending 2 ki points, isn't too wild for me. Truth be told, there are some way stronger features for monks at 17th. But automatically applying trained effects, even those detrimental for the enemy, without a saving throw dosen't sit right. All the more when Psychic effect is very similar to a brilliant(as in, really strong) spell Tasha's Mind Whip, Poison which takes just a bonus action out of enemy, and Necrotic with disadvantage on attack rolls against you. Even open hand monk have saves on two (arguably) stronger effects on their core ability. And they got to use it only when they use their resources, which here happens always.--Cezaryx (talk) 04:27, 20 December 2021 (MST)
