Talk:Sylvan Knight (5e Subclass)

From D&D Wiki

Although a lot more balanced than the standard for this wiki, it has a few problems of its own.

  • It's too focused on Dexterity. Having another type of fighting than Dexterity will seriously hamper the Sylvan Knight defense.
  • It is a MAD class, as its defense depends on three stats (Wisdom and Dexterity for AC, Constitution for HP).
  • It negates most of the fighter's core abilities: mastery on weapons and mastery on armors.
  • Expertise on three skills is a bit too much for a non-rogue, specially at 7th level.

My suggestion is: change the Natural armor to resemble the Bark Skin spell or the barbarian Unarmored Defense. Maybe even change the armor to Con+Wis so there is no dependance on Dexterity. As it is now, it is too dependant on spells to work as a fighter.

Hey

I feel like the lvl 18 trait is rather underwhelming. since Eldritch knights gets the same thing at lvl 7 --QuartzRhytmatics (talk) 15:46, 3 July 2017 (MDT)

Actually, the feature is exactly the same between two archetypes. The 7th-level feature you are referring to is limited to cantrips, not spells (of 1st level and higher). --WeirdoWhoever (talk) 17:42, 3 July 2017 (MDT)
