Updates[edit]

Added Light Armor to your proficiencies for Courage Of The Spellblades, because I legitimately didn't realize before that you don't have any armor proficiencies as a Sorcerer. In exchange, I removed the part of this same feature that made all Swords Finesse weapons.

I also added a final part the Be Brave feature, which allows you to have one final turn upon death. This may be overpowered, but I like the idea enough that if it comes to it I'd rather nerf another part of the feature first before removing this part. I'm considering making an alternate version of this Subclass to accommodate this change. --Supersmily5 (talk) 17:02, 9 May 2019 (MDT)

Added an Alternate version of the Subclass for DMs to have choice in how Spellblades are portrayed in their campaign. Also nerfed the original version's Be Brave feature, as the alternate version has it and other similar powers. --Supersmily5 (talk) 17:26, 14 May 2019 (MDT)

Final Update unless anyone wants to change it: I removed the whole final turn thing from Be Brave as it would really warrant an entire separate feature, but there are no more subclass features for the effect to be used. Might recycle it later for something else, but I wouldn't know what right now. --Supersmily5 (talk) 21:27, 25 May 2019 (MDT)

NewnewNEW update. Sooo depending on the DM it can actually be impossible to read spell scrolls outside of your class's spell list, as well as the standard rules having it be actually impossible to read another Wizard's spellbook without decoding it first, something only Wizards can do. I added a piece to Sorcerous Innovation to avoid this by default, but individual DMs may find some other solution more interesting, such as requiring a skill check to decode the info, or a Wizard outright having to teach the would-be caster the encoding of their spellbook. Feel free to alter the version in-game, but I'd ask to please avoid changing the version on this site. The addition was made to cover it as a blanket statement rather than make a long-winded note about each way you could possibly do this, and unless found to be overpowered it shouldn't be changed. --Supersmily5 (talk) 21:26, 10 June 2019 (MDT)

OKAY. So it turns out there's actually almost no spells that allow a melee spell attack, the whole point of the subclass being to enhance melee attacks makes this fairly weak. To counter this to some degree, I buffed Graduation to double the bonus you get from magic weapons that give a bonus to attack and damage rolls, giving a maximum of +6 over the normal lackluster +3. Hopefully this can help counter this weakness without being too OP. Thoughts? --Supersmily5 (talk) 09:39, 21 July 2019 (MDT)

Added a slight final improvement to allow you to learn any cantrip in the game that requires a melee spell attack roll. Canonically, this only adds Primal Savagery to my knowledge, but every little bit helps. --Supersmily5 (talk) 11:01, 21 July 2019 (MDT)
