Talk:Scrimshawing Tools (5e Equipment)

This is a type of artisans' tools, and it would use the rules for crafting in the PHB (p.187). What do these homebrew rules let me do? Given a supply of bones (which would be trivial after a typical combat encounter), working 8 hours a day, with a Dex modifier of +4, I can make 56 easy carving attempts. On average, 43 will succeed and 2 will be masterworks, generating a total worth of 1075 + 12500 gp = 13,575 gp. Compare with the 35 gp of worth that actual crafting rules would generate. Meant to say that the 56 carving attempts was over 1 week. Marasmusine (talk) 02:36, 9 February 2016 (MST)

I've removed that whole section and changed it to artisan's tools, so it will use the default method in the PHB.
