Talk:Necrotic Overlay (5e Spell)

This is becoming a bit incoherent. If you are now using your spell casting ability for the melee weapon attack, why not just make it a melee spell attack? I'm still not sure why I would take this, there are better melee-range options and there isn't much vulnerable to necrotic damage (but plenty that resists it...) well i added it because it for excample if you play an necromancer you get more a feeling of beeing one. lets say your an necromander but you can never use much necromancy spells since there arent too much now every spell can be necromancy for example you shoot an fire ball but now you can shoot an Greenish-blue flamed ball that explodes in an destructive death nova. it it mainly for the feeling. and i forgot about the melle spell atack thanks for reminding me

In my opinion it's better to have necrotic damage accompany some other effect. That's more flavourful. Look at blight for example. Marasmusine (talk) 04:55, 23 June 2017 (MDT)
