Talk:Morfan (5e Creature)

From D&D Wiki

Jump to: navigation, search

This creature has a case of having far too high ability scores, skills, and senses while having a CR of over 30. This creature also has

  • Reactions that slow combat to a crawl(and that are arguably too powerful)
  • A non-standard creature type since isn't a dimension demon tag or demon type(it would be fiend type (demon tag))
  • This creature gets it gets too many legendary actions and Dimensional Resistances/Legendary Resistances
  • Resistance to magical damage from bludgeoning and piercing damage
  • Many effects that are unclear or use incorrect wording(features are capitalized for starters)
  • A few straight up broken/overpowered effects(Dark Matter Body for decaying/potentially destroying any armor, Magic Commander on top of dimensional resistances, Savage Flurry of Blows(this damage is extremely variable, just give the creature more attacks), Dimensional Time Grab, no limit on Dark matter surrounding).--Blobby383b (talk) 21:49, 31 March 2018 (MDT)

--Blobby383b thank you for your feedback on this. About the Morfans CR and too high ability scores, skills, and senses, well all I can say that's it is a monster that I designed and I wanted it to be kinda a problematic monster that perfectly aware that it is in a game and sometimes will act accordingly to it. (sometimes he will help players beat him or just plain exploit games mechanics like just knowing what players will do and what players have for their features, spells or items ) I was about to write that all down including some of dose changes I'm making :

  • Giving him Dark points to limit his usage of his features and abilities
  • Balancing using your suggestions
  • Removing magic commander (I have figure it would be just overpowered; thanks for that confirmation)

About the incorrect wording well I'm trying my best and I don't mind it being in a aprils fools section. (I really don't know how to put it to aprils fools section) since it was put there the frist time I created him but I'm inexperienced whit this form of editing so I ended up fucking it up and alsoe new to the dnd.

Why would it be an April Fools entry? I can't see anything funny about it. What it does need is a rewrite so that it works better with the D&D ruleset. I dunno if you want to read through your copy of the Monster Manual again. I guess the first things to note is that Medium-sized monsters have d8 hit dice, not d20; and that CR has a maximum of 30.
