Talk:Detective (5e Class)
I've been a very long time user of this site, but I had to make an account just for this since I haven't seen anyone talk about it.
This class disgusts me. I am absolutely revolted. This is insanely broken and OP and should never be used for actual play. Halbech (talk) 11:49, 20 August 2021 (MDT)
- At a glance, I can certainly see a few issues, but would you mind explaining the issues you in particular see? Would make rebalancing the material easier. --SwankyPants (talk) 11:38, 20 August 2021 (MDT)
It would take way too long to go over everything wrong with this. It's nearly the entire damn page. I will mention a few, but really just anyone familiar with 5e should be able to see the problems with this by just looking at it for more than a minute. For starters, this class starts with 5 proficiencies, two sets of weapons, a pack, a gaming set, and tool set. Level 2 lets you add your intelligence mod to your initiative checks. Which already is a huge advantage over all other classes out there, and at level 7 you will gain advantage in it as well. This will stack with things that increase initiative. So already, you massively outrank a barbarian, and a rogue, two classes that are designed to be quick in initiative. At level 5, you have advantage to Dex saves. Not Dex saves to things you can see like some classes have, just straight up advantage to dex saves. "At 7th level, you may add your intelligence modifier to Dexterity saving throws. Additionally, at 12th level, you may add your intelligence modifier to Wisdom saving throws; at 15th level, you may add your intelligence modifier to Charisma saving throws; and at 18th you may add your intelligence modifier to all saving throws." This entire thing right here is disgusting. It's just so much man! There's so much wrong with this class! Halbech (talk) 11:49, 20 August 2021 (MDT)
- Alright, I hope this solves a few of the issues. Anything else still glaringly bad? --SwankyPants (talk) 12:32, 20 August 2021 (MDT)
