Nice to see Beast Wars get some D&D love. I personally would make the Beast Mode CR equal the player's level and remove the size limit because the beast forms forms like Rhino and the T-Rex are very much far above just 1/2 and bigger than medium. But that's just me. This race thus far is awesome.

Yeah, that's one of the main problems with balancing derivative material. Not too much you can do. Potentially racial feats/epic boons could be made to rectify the problem, but reaching up to CR 8 might be a challenge for balancing. Glad to hear that you guys like my work. I did indeed consider adding racial feats that would bump up the available size and CR for the beast mode and even started working on drafts for them, but I wasn't satisfied with the results and so I never published them. --SlaadSack (talk) 16:27, 2 February 2021 (MST)
